Feel like the Knicks were lowkey loaded with assets when the Brunson era started. Randle, Toppin, Quickley, Grimes, etc.. plus a boatload of picks that they were able to use in trades. The Lakers have Luka, Austin, Bronny, and potentially some cap space if they let several key rotation players...

You saying it like the extra $100 million was guaranteed… It wasn’t. Brunson still had to survive another season healthy and performing at a high to get it. Anything went wrong this season, that contract more than likely wasn’t going to be there waiting on him.

People talk about Brunson giving up $100 million, but that only becomes true if he can’t cash in again when this contract ends. If he’s still a max player at 31, he’ll likely recover a large portion of that money on his next deal… if anything just say he hedged the bet on himself from this...

Thanks for thinking about me man. I actually grabbed these a couple months ago… they were in-store only at the time but guess now they’re available online. All good, now just waiting on the AOC 2’s to restock! (Hopefully)

Me saying all players SHOULD try and get the most they can doesn’t mean that they’re always going to get it, or that a smart front office will just blindly hand it out. I’ve already mentioned that I don’t think Reaves is going to get the max. Lol I’ve also mentioned that a “hope” strategy...

As a Lakers fan I’m not okay with any other team winning the title… that’s my emotional reaction to that question. My logical assessment is separate of emotion. This roster isn’t good enough to win it all, they have limited resources to make improvements therefore it’s difficult for me to see...

Agree w/ both points. My realistic expectation for the Luka era is that the team will be “good enough” because he’s that talented and just maybe the Lakers could get some lucky breaks like injuries to another contender that could open up a pathway to a title. And I’m okay with that.

Lakers have two years to figure this out before Luka opts out and looks for greener pastures. IMO whatever Reaves ends up getting…$35-40 mil doesn’t really change the reality of the situation
