Look, I know there's a ton of hate toward the 2010's, and I was in that camp...until I got a pair. They are THE BEST J's I've ever played in, and I've literally destroyed multiple sigs because of play--12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 2011, 2012. The XX*8's forefoot zoom recently blew on me after FOUR...
I think this is a great point. I thought about that when playing--I mean, that compressed air has to go somewhere. Unfortunately, it often blows out the side to the bag. I had wondered about how the Superfly's stacked up. I honestly think I'd take a little less springiness in return for more...
It's just really disappointing. I LOVED playing in these, but for the "most tested Jordan ever," this should never happen. I've never had a forefoot zoom bag pop on me, and let me tell you I've beat the hell out of my J's playing hundreds of games in them--12's, 13's, 3 pairs of 14's, 15's...
Whelp. It happened to me after only four two-hour ball sessions. My XX8's forefoot zoom bag popped today. Very sad, and disappointed. This is a big issue. I had only EVER worn these inside on clean courts. It literally took eight hours for them to blow. Lame.
Just copped a pair of the blue and whites for $40 at the Little Rock Nike Outlet. So comfortable. They remind me of my AJ 2010's with the bottom-loaded zoom, which is NEVER a bad thing.
I would just say that this gives us an insight into JB's earlier attempts at trying to deconstruct the midsole and make it more based around carbon fiber and new forms of propulsion/cushion. It was just a bit heavy and unstable. But I would def. argue that it's the predecessor to the flight...
Hi all,
So, while perusing the internet the other day, I came across this image from the release of the AJ2009. It appears that this was Jordan Brand's first (largely failed) attempt at a flight plate. Look familiar?
It's official. I'm going to buy those XX8 lites. I predict they'll be BETTER performance-wise than the reg. XX8's, because they'll actually breath. Can't wait.
I want these lites to be like the old "+" j's. Take the AJXVI+, for example. They retained all of the good things about the original, and just made some small changes. Hopefully J Brand doesn't mess this up like they did the AJ 2012 lites with that CRAPPY plastic midfoot shank and...
I guess I just don't understand why they suddenly have to label the carbon fiber midfoot shank (something that's been on Jordans since the AJ11) as "flight carbon" starting with the 2012's, when, let's face it, the "flight carbon" midfoot shank on the 2012's is really nothing different than any...
A couple comments regarding the XX8 and AJ's in general.
1) In general, I wish Jordan wouldn't brand their stuff so blatantly like they have with the last two models. I especially don't like them writing "flight plate" on the carbon like the xx8's (or, in last year's case, "flight carbon"). I...
