Do you know any info about Naval Reactors Engineers? Is it hard? What is their main duty? I graduated with a major in mechanical engineering and a minor in nuclear engineering and was considering this career.
I'm in mechanical engineering about to finish this december but to be successful in any engineering you got to be good at math but basically in my courses all i really used was stuff from cal 1, matrix, and diff. equ and also have strong analytical skills and great work habit, no slacking off
thinking about joining the navy after graduation. i'm a senior in college graduating in december. major in mechanical engineering and minor in nuclear engineering. thinking about becoming an officer to one day be a surface warfare officer working on the nuclear reactors in the aircraft carriers...

yes, this trend is annoying. first off, if you wear glasses then i guess it's ok but if you don't then that's plain stupid. I wonder how they would feel if they were back in the '80s or something when "nerds" would rock them and then end up getting picked on?

I had one experience where I was at my friend's house and he was talking about his garage being haunted, that he was in there one time and he had heard a girl's voice in there when he was all alone. Naturally I thought he was BSing, well I ended up staying over after coming back from a party and...
One thing that I found that helped a lot was joining organizations. Not only can you meet fellow classmates but also higher class students who can help. Also great way to network. Such orgs are ASME, IEEE, ASCE, ANS, NSBE, SHPE, SWE
still in school, graduate in december. majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in nuclear engineering.
From what I've heard and from engineering friends who have graduated, starting pay is around $55K
Math is pretty much everything in engineering, hard major but its worth it in the end
