Whelp, I have to take the "L" on my prediction of the zoom bags as upper support. I still think it is an odd design decision, as nowhere have they explained what these are made of...a missed opportunity to put some sort of cool tech there. Oh well!
I still hold to my original theory on the zoom wrapping the upper forefoot. Only logical explanation for the odd white color of that x strap. But I also like your addition here!
I'm a huge shoe head. I've been thinking since I saw these that those side pieces looked odd, unless they were some sort of new tech. So, they're doing a more 360 degree approach to zoom--a new sort of "unlocked" where it is now being used to lock in and stabilize the foot in the shoe. You can...
I’m guessing they will market it as a more dynamic zoom experience. So, when you press down on your forefoot, the air from the bottom of the shoe will travel up around the sides of your feet to provide you better support. It is a different take on the original cross straps.
I've said it earlier in this thread, and I'll say it again. Mark my words, there is going to be some sort of 3-D printing on this shoe...If that above mag ad is real, it has the bird bone reference in it...compare that to 3-D printed shoes so far...
I'm not trying to "reach," I'm just hoping that we get something new/cutting-edge with these. I've never been more disappointed with a pair of J's than I was with the XXX's. No innovation in those whatsoever.
Maybe "almost positive" was reaching, I agree on that. Let me put it this way, I am expecting something pretty groundbreaking for this sneaker, especially since they haven't done S*** different on the last two, and I think that 3D printing might be just that. We'll see what happens!
I feel like they might institute the 3D printing in a limited form on the shoe. Maybe the heel section of the midsole (like the recent UA shoe), or a heel clip, etc. Or maybe not--maybe they'll go further. I'm going to try to look into patents that Nike has issued. Maybe there's something there...
Ok, so I have a theory on this. You might remember that when the XXX came out, Tinker and Mark Smith were doing an interview, and Tinker started to say something about "printing" the jumpman symbol on the toe of the XXX, and Smith IMMEDIATELY cut him off and said something along the lines of "we...
Maybe I'm being silly, but what speaks volumes to me about this shoe is the lack of carbon fiber. I mean, I would have happily paid an extra $25 for a full carbon fiber set up--mid-foot shank, side support shanks--these should be the best materials possible! I was also hoping that with this...
That huge Jumpman on the side...just can't get over it. I'd like that grey/orange color way without it. What is this one of those ghastly "Big Pony Polo" shirts?! Let your design speak so you don't have to throw a GIANT logo on the side.
