Thanks! No cleat is better or worse than another. It all depends on what you want in a cleat. It seemed like you wanted support and cushioning and wanted lows. The alphas would get you there. The entire vapor line is a minimalist cleat. Super lightweight which means sacrifice in cushioning.
I think Alpha Pros would be your best bet. The flywire provides great lockdown and adapts to your foot shape. The midsole is also thicker for more support than the vapor line. You can check out a more detailed review here.
A 3D Printer PRINTS not forms. Its designed using CAD modeling. Thats why the 3D printed models won't be produced. Even if they want to manufacture it, the capital and time needed to manufacturer wouldn't allow it to be produced now. My guess is that we will see some technology used in a...
No, it uses technology form a cleat that was 3D printed. 3D printing allows you to make changes on the fly without actually manufacturing. Super high cost to manufacture at scale.
The gear everyone is posting is for the '14-'15 season. The '13-'14 season ends Feb 2nd. And everything in the SiuperBowl is actually for next year. They used the playoffs and bowl games to showcase next year's stuff.
Can someone tell me why we are using the 2013 thread to talk about 2014 gear?
Shouldn't we used the 2014 thread to talk about the 2014 gear?

I could see why you would think that about the flynit material. It would be different than the running shoes. They would have reinforcement where needed. The main thing I see though is the contact from other cleats. Even our football socks are padded more!
Do you mean a heel counter is superfluous or a CF heel counter. The only reason you would use a CF heel counter is because its lighter weight. But its not that much lighter so you want to be able to see it so that its a good visual as well. That's why every shoe that has CF you can see it...
That didn't make any sense what so ever. Carbon Fiber is stronger and lighter than TPU. Its also way more expensive. THAT's why you don't see it in football cleats. There is no need for it because if used it would be covered up by either synthetic leather or painted. Heal counters are what...

Cleat Pattern: Vapors have blades at the back of the cleat that I believe help for lateral stability and cuts more than the Alphas that have cones at the rear. I also think the Alphas are better in both grass and turf where the Vapors would only be great in turf (assuming you would...
