Yeah and after taxes, etc. I might as well wait for a discount on NDC lol
I don't remember their fees being this high a few years ago, I feel like they increased them.
Yeah but why all the cancellations? Something in terms of release strategy is not going to plan. Was surprised they cancelled the Olive 1s that were supposed to drop in the Fall since those seemed like they would be popular.
I do wonder if the massive discounts are making Nike/JB slow down releases though. Like they cancelled a bunch of retro releases this year so it makes me wonder if they realize that they are flooding the market, even if their endgame is to increase retail prices across the board, as you mentioned.
Pretty much every retro is cooling down, even 4s at this point.
Nike/JB increased retail prices and flooded the market trying to capitalize on the post-Last Dance and COVID retro hype meanwhile the sneaker market in general is down.
Yeah I definitely think there is some truth to this, also it’s pretty clear they use StockX/GOAT as a measure of what is popular and simply create derivative cws like:
“Oh, Mochas are popular?? Well, let’s release the ‘We got Mochas at home!’”
Let’s be honest, opinion of Gentry set aside, the brand needs FAR more than simply better leadership to course correct (although that is a start). I’m sure there are people on NT who can come up with better cws than some of the official ones the brand drops-and Nike/JB are ostensibly paying...
Yeah but the non-85 OG lows are ironically less OG than the 2015-2016 OG low model. They intentionally crippled this model by shrinking the swoosh and removing a lacehole for some unknown reason.
This is what happens when you hire people who don’t understand the products to run your company-you get a lot of terrible releases like this one.
On the plus side, think about all the money that Nike/JB are saving us older sneakerheads… This makes you really appreciate all the great releases we...
Well Nike got wise and would pay OT to DC police in Georgetown to stop people from rushing the doors. That is also dangerous since people get injured when that happens. IIRC, they also implemented a ticketing system to make sure people waiting for longer periods would be more inclined to get pairs.
I wish they would just kill this model.
They were a great idea when they first released but they’ve driven them into the ground over the past 4 years. I don’t think we need them anymore.
