This is what I’m saying. If that style isn’t your thing, not much I can say to counter that cause tastes are very subjective. But I’m speaking from an OBJECTIVE technical perspective.
Anyways, I come from a very musical household, my dad was an engineer who had one of the most prominent recording studios in Hollywood, who recorded with many top people in the musical industry including Dolly Parton, Madonna and Michael Jackson….so, I have a very good ear for how well a musical...
This. And even the lesser known guys like Doug Rasheed, Mike Mosley, and Bobcat all produced fire.
I like Bobcats beat on Holla At Me more than either Dre beat on the album, which is saying something.
Pac is one of the few hip hop artists that had enough versatility that could pull off a double album. And he did it exceptionally well. No way Snoop (even in his prime) could do it. Biggie and Wu pulled it off, but only after following PAC’s formula and the critical acclaim that All Eyez got...
Haha, you wish it was. That’s a false narrative people been trying to push to discredit the album but no one was saying that when the album dropped.
Disc 1 itself > Doggystyle, and Disc 2 ain’t far behind it. I love Doggysyle as said before but it’s almost claustrophobic feeling when compared...
You’re trippin if you dislike any of the production on All Eyez. I love Doggystyle as much as the next dude (I even got it in my top 10 fav albums) but it has absolutely nothing on All Eyez On Me, not musically and sure as hell not lyrically.
Yea if you take out the sex skit and put in a 3rd Pac verse, it would actually be pretty dope. I actually let the song play til that point. The beat is sick still, and despite its flaws it helps to complete him as an artist. Prince made TONS of sexual songs.
Disc 1 is slightly better, but not by nearly as much as some peeps think. Lots of bangers on Disc 2, with Holla At Me being my favorite. That Bobcat beat is just stupid Ill, and PAC’s delivery hits like a truck. Only songs I don’t mess with are Whatz Ya Phone # (it would actually be dope if the...
Nah, All Eyez On Me is fine as is. It wouldn’t have had nearly the same impact or legacy as a single album. It’s The White Album of hip-hop, can’t imagine it any other way really.
Yea, whenever I hear anyone say Pac wasn’t a lyricist I just point them in the direction of “If I Die 2Nite” and that shuts them up in a hurry. But I think too many people think of being a lyricist in very narrow terms (punchlines, lyrical dexterity, rhyme structure, etc) when part of being...
This pair I can understand having the Jumpman. Honestly I had no idea these were even a PE version; I always thought Mike had just been wearing a TB 3 retro that whole time.
They actually did a pretty good job on these 12’s. They didn’t quite knock it out of the park like they did the FR 3’s, but better than many other recent 12’s.
I couldn’t care less how rare Jordan’s with a jumpman on the heel become. I will choose an original colorway with NA on the back over one with a jumpman 10 times outta 10.
The BC3 is still my GOAT 3. This release is obviously better than the 2018 BC3, but minute they do those in the current mold it will be the GOAT 3 since 1988. FR’s are definitely my second favorite colorway though.
