The Official NBA Thread: Mavs Hire Dusty May

I always forgot there is a salary floor. Good point.

Agreed. I feel like I’ve seen something a long the lines of what this tweet says - whether having the Heat or Celtics as the front runners - at least 5 times in the last week and yet here we are with Giannis still on the Bucks. Annoying situation all the way around.

@freeze is absolutely not in any way, shape or form “yall”.

I had not heard this before - no wonder she looked like she was about to pass out after the game ended  Quite a day for her. https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/actress-mariska-hargitay-sprinted-10-025500187.html

The Official NBA Thread: Mavs Hire Dusty May

This touches on something I think about often when I see kids working out with trainers (and not participating in pick-up games). When I was coming up the conventional wisddom I got from older dudes who were involved in basketball - youth coaches, older high school players and guys who had...

Was waiting for this, but honestly was expecting it to happen on GMA or an NY TV news program.

How I feel. The beignets are perfectly fine fried dough with sugar on them; but not special enough that I’d go out of my way to have them again.

Thank you @DCAllAfrican. This pretty convincingly answers my question from this morning about whether the TJ’s totes are a thing all over

For sure. I'm into trying regional signature dishes and/or stuff from places that are culturnal institutions in cities, even if I'm not expecting the food to be amazing. I'll hit the tourist trap spots to say I've done it - like cheesesteaks from Pat's and Geno's in Philly, beniegts from...

Start the draft. Start the games. Someone make a trade or hire a coach. Someone in the NBA do something.

    FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

^^^ Reminds me of when I travelled to a very small Iowa town for my father-in-law’s funeral. The first night we got there we went to dinner at a restaurant/banquet hall and ordered the “Garden Burger” from their menu, thinking it was a veggie burger. Nope. It was a giant beef patty - the...

Don’t see Kawhi agreeing to take less money from the Clippers unless they convince him they’ll be able to bring in another all star they need to pay. Doesn’t seem the type to take a discount to stay with a squad he thinks will be mediocre.

Are the Trader Joe’s seasonal tote bag releases a big thing everywhere? Or are we just weirdly extra into them here in CA? (My nearest TJ’s had a long line to get in this morning).

Rainn Wilson saying The Office couldn’t be made today because it’s too edgy when it’s still never not on TV somewhere (and when The Paper exists) is quite the take. :rolleyes
