lol. thanks for the vic video. i'm really looking forward to this fight. arce is one of my favorite boxers because he is such a naco, but i'm ridingwith vic on this one. arce sent him some huevos for the press conference, and vic totally turned it on him by saying, "chicken arce layed some eggs".vic may be an arrogant punk, but his antics are comedy.

Vic is full of quotables:

"It's the 'Year of the Ox,' how appropriate that I'm fighting Jorge Arce, who is as dumb as one. I'm going to blow him awaylike a Santa Ana wind. On Feb. 7, I'm going to teach Arce just how interim his title really is. What's black and blue and red all over? Jorge Arce byRound 3 --assuming he lasts that long." -- Junior bantamweight titlist Vic Darchinyan, in his trash-talking prime as he prepares for his Showtimebout with interim titlist Arce.

Whomever writes for this guy needs to really start selling his services.

Ciso "Kid Terrible" Morales had to shed off an extra pound at the weigh in before making the 122 lb. weight limit for his WBO Oriental jr.featherweight title defense against Pitchitchoke Singmanasak. The Thai boxer weighed 121 1/4 lb. on his first attempt.

"Marvelous" Marvin Sonsona also did not make weight on his first try - weighing in at 113 1/2 lb. - and had to sweat off the extra weight and reached 112 lbs on his second attempt. i agree, cus i doubt vic is that witty. nice quote though.

I won't lie.. I'm for Jorge Arce because I'm salty about what Vic has done to Filipino fighters (kicked our behinds with the exception of N.Donaire and Gorres) and a couple days ago he even called out Manny
laugh.gif

But Vic's gonna win this one. I may dislike him, but I respect the hell out of him. Dude talks crap, and backs it up (except for that one time) He'sgot ice in his veins and his confidence is unlike any other. Not to mention how much he's improved after the Gorres fight. His new trainer (forgot thename) transformed him into a totally different fighter. He got Vic to improve his defense, footwork, and throw combinations.... without taking away hispowerful left hand. I respect fighters who's in their early 30s that are still willing to improve their game. Vic wins this 4th rd TKO

TABILARAN CITY -- ALA Boy AJ 'Bazooka' Banal, once touted as the brightest Filipino prospect to follow the footsteps of Filipino ring legend Manny Pacquiao before his devastating loss against Rafael Concepcion of Panama in a title fight in July last year at the Cebu Coliseum in Cebu City, will try to restore the broken pieces of his otherwise brilliant career when he goes back to action tonight against Nouldy Manakane of Indonesia at the Island City Mall car park in this city.

Also returning to the ring tonight after an absence of one year and a half is another ALA Boy in Czar Amonsot who was sidelined after a speck of blood was found in the region of his brain after a bloody fight with Michael Katsidis of Australia on July 21, 2007 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Amonsot has been given a clean bill of health to fight tonight and a chance to rebuild his budding professional career. Incidentally, Katsidis is also fighting tonight at the Cebu Coliseum against Angel Hugo Ramirez of Spain.

Banal (17-1-1 14KOs) has been given a more than even chance to beat Manakane (17-7-1 8KOs) but how impressive his performance tonight will most likely dictate the next step he will take as far as who his next opponent is. Nevertheless, Banal is set to join stablemate and WBO minimumweight champion Donnie Nietes in the United States next month to train and look for fights in the United States.

Amonsot (18-3-1 10KOs) had impressed a lot people in his fight with Katsidis and a win tonight against the unheralded Zoel Fidal (16-6-2 7KOs) will most likely lead to more important fights in the future.

All four protagonists made the required weights during yesterday's weighin here. Banal and Manakane came in at identical 119 lbs for their bantamweight battle while Amonsot and Fidal tipped the scales at identical 136 lbs for their lightweight bout.

Today's bout dubbed 'They Are Back' is being sponsored by Tagbilaran City mayor Dan Neri Lim in partnership with ALA Promotions. Six other professional bouts are featured before the two main events and is free to the public. The first bout starts at 6:00 p.m.
Lets get this Czar!

Yo, im not so sure that Vic doesn't just come up with this stuff by himself. I've heard him in postfight interviews and other interviewssay some funny stuff off top in response to some questions. Dude seems like he would be a funny guy too. Miranda is a dude who i think might haveghostwriter, i'm REALLY skeptical he writes his own *%%+.

oh yeah, and anyone else check out FNF tonight? My boy Juan Urango put in work beating Herman Ngoudjo and winning a vacant belt. Once again world champion
pimp.gif
.

Urango actually looked not too bad. Ngoudjo was running all night, but Juan did a nice job of going to the body and cutting him down. He dropped him twice inthe 3rd and just kept coming all night. Some of the body shots he was connecting with were f'ing crucial. Urango is a DANGEROUS dude if you try to fighthim at all. He's hella wide with his punches, but goes to the body well now, has a HELL of a chin, and applies margarito like constant pressure.

Katsidis wins WBO Asia-Pacific lightweight title

Michael "The Great" Katsidis of Australia won the vacant WBO Asia-Pacific Lightweight title with a unanimous decision win over Spain's Angel Hugo "El Tren" Ramirez last Saturday at the Cebu Coliseum.

Katsidis was ready to rumble from the start and chased Ramirez who was more content in dancing and circling the ring. In the second round, Ramirez fell after being hit by a couple of punches to the body and head. He claimed it was a slip as referee Bruce McTavish initiated the count. Katsidis, however got a one point deduction in the round after hitting Ramirez when he was down again.

In the third, the Spanish boxer continued to dance away from the Australian. In the fourth, Katsidis knocked Ramirez down three times. El Tren still managed to get up and fight back at the end of the round. Katsidis continued his dominance in the fifth and in the 6th round Ramirez finally managed to land some counter shots but Katsidis again had no trouble finding his range in the final minute of the round.

Ramirez landed more effective punches in the 7th. In the 8th round a cut opened on the head of Katsidis just above the right forehead. He also had a grazed right cheekbone. But cutman Nonito Donaire, Sr. was successful in stopping the bleeding in between rounds. In the ninth, Ramirez tried to make a fight out of it knowing he was still behind but Katsidis remained the aggressor and landed the stronger punches. In the tenth and final round, Ramirez inexplicably was in survival mode instead of going for broke and continued his dancing routine.

The scorecards read: 98-87, 96-89 and 96-89 all for Katsidis.

The three Filipino Matadors all made impressive successful defenses of their WBO regional titles. Ciso "Kid Terrible" Morales scored a fifth round TKO win over
Pitchitchoke Singmanasak to retain his WBO Oriental jr.featherweight title. Morales had a slow start until his right straight started to find its target on the Thailander's face in the fourth. In the fifth Morales unleashed a heavy fusillade and knocked the Thai down. He got up but was pinned on the neutral corner with a barrage of punches prompting the referee to stop the contest as the bell rand. Official time 2:59 of the 5th round.

Anthony "Rocky" Marcial made short work of undefeated challenger Thai Vacharakrit Senayan and retained his WBO Oriental jr. lightweight title via 1st round TKO. Marcial landed wicked punches from the opening bell and blood started to pour out from the challenger's nose. The Thai did nothing but cover up and continued to take punches thus prompting the referee to stop the fight at the 1:58 mark.

"Marvelous" Marvin Sonsona, the WBO Asia Pacific Youth titlist, won via 4th round TKO over another Thai, Liempetch Sor Veerapol. The Filipino southpaw peppered his opponent with straight lefts in the first 2 rounds. In the third Veerapol collapsed under a hail of punches as Sonsona stepped up his offense. The challenger still got up but in the fourth round with blood trickling from his nose he was the recipient of more than ten unanswered power punches from Sonsona and the referee mercifully stopped the carnage at the 44 second mark.

In the supporting bouts, Kevin dela Cruz won by unanimous decision over Rolando Magallano in a bruising six round featherweight brawl. The scores: 58-55, 59-54 and 58-55.

In the first bout of the evening, bantamweights Marvin Mabait and Marco Demecillo fought to a majority draw. Demecillo was knocked down in round one. A clash of head in round two lead to a cut on the right eyebrow of Mabait while Demicillo was deducted a point. In the next two rounds, Demecillo chased and pummeled a tiring and fading Mabait all around the ring. The score cards read: 37-36 Mabait and two judges scored it 37 all.
Amonsot also wins

TAGBILARAN CITY -- AJ 'Bazooka' Banal and Czar Amonsot scored impressive knockout victories over their Indonesian opponents at the jampacked Island City Mall car park here late last night to announce their earnest return to the boxing world.

Banal displayed new moves and bounce to outslick and outmaneuver Nouldy Manakane of Indonesia circling beautifully while tagging the game Indonesian with accurate combinations. The Indonesian fought valiantly but his onslaught came to naught as these were met with fort-like defense and booming counters from the resurgent Filipino.

A hard left sent Manakane to the canvas in the 2nd round and a 1-2 combo at 1:39 of the 4th canto sent Manakane crushing hard to the canvas again. Referee Ben Necesario didn't bother to administer the count as the Indonesian, who was hoping to score a monumental upset, lay motionless in the middle of the ring and was helped by ring physicians to recover and get back on his feet.

Amonsot who didn't show the rust of a one and a half year layoff, was too powerful and skillful for Zoel Fidal sending the Indonesian to the canvas in the 2nd round with a body shot to which Fidal's corner was trying to contest with the referee as a low blow. A picture-perfect left-cross by Amonsot to Fidal's jaw in the 5th round sent the Indonesian to the canvas for the second time. Referee Delbert Peligrino waved his hands signaling the end of the contest when Fidal was unable to beat the count.

An estimated 15,000 Boholanos in this island paradise stood shoulder-to-shoulder at the vacant parking lot to witness the return of their popular province-mates.

In the main undercard, local prospect Ricky Sismundo scored a stunning 8th round knockout victory over the highly regarded Darryl Pucdol of the Wakee Salud stable. In a fight featuring a highly skilled boxer going against a young workhorse, brute force won the night as Pucdol was unable to put away the very determined Sismundo who kept on coming back and finally landed the night's most telling blow that knocked the daylights out of Pucdol for good in the 8th round.

In other results, Along Denoy coasted to an 8th round unanimous decision over Aljun Salogaol; Rocky Amosot vs Sauel Galinato ended a split draw; Junel Barembao vs Ricky Nunez ended in a majority draw; Perennial loser Powell Balaba scored his first win in six fights over the debuting Jestoni Tunacao and Romano Gelig scored a majority decision victory over Eman Labanza.

Last night's event was presented by ALA Promotions with the full support of Tagbilaran City mayor Dan Neri Lim and city government of Tagbilaran, Bohol.

Floyd VS Shane in July...............

Good idea?

147 is where its at though.

Williams, Cotto, Mosley, Pacquiao.

I want to see Floyd fight those guys in the next 2 years then call it.

laugh.gif
"manly punches"
Amo,
U on a roll.

If PBF wants to go down in history as Al time great (like he claims) he has to at least fight most of those guys. He don't even have to win em all. Justget in the ring n have good showings.
U can't claim to be one of the greats only having fought 2 or 3 great fighters.
smh.gif

I don't see it in floyd. He wouldn't step in the ring with Williams. He jsut wouldn't. Sugar Ray Leonard fought Everyone. Duran too. Hearns too.And all 3 weren't afraid to move it up or down in weight to get superfights.
This new school age of boxers irk me
That's why I am a huge fan of Punisher.
He a throwback

Paul was fresh on the scene when Floyd was at the height of his career.

There was no reason he should have fought Paul to begin with.

You gotta realize there is ZERO money to be made fighting Paul Williams unless you're a journeyman

laugh.gif

I know.
that fight could be guaranteed 10 million and floyd still wouldn't get in there with him.
PBF is a great fighter but hes an even better "fight selector"

Are yall really optomistic that floyd fights shane? I'm not. That fight aint happenin. Fight coulda been made yrs ago,
IMO
Floyd only comes back for Pacman that's about it.

That's what I've been saying, there's not a big enough fighter out there to fight PBF right now.
