There's a distinct difference in the tier 1 programs in the country right now and the ranked teams from the ACC. The ceiling for any of those teams rightnow might have been VT's preseason ranking. Really the only team that has a shot at maybe matching VTs preseason ranking/getting into the top 10 for acouple weeks is GT...
