2009 UAAP-NCAA Thread

Even if I am a La Sallian through and through...big shout out to UP for beating DLSU earlier. For some reason, whenever UP wins against the favored teams, italways makes the victory sweeter. Haha, good job, Maroons!

In fairness to Simon, he's one loyal Archer. Maybe Mikee doesn't want there because of Tolentino and Revilla. Playing time will be theproblem.

true, playing time would be an issue if he went to dlsu. but that mikee reyes can really play, he even plays ahead of the vets in that team, and saw him playedwell in several games during the first round as well.

this year's rookie batch has been

. rr garcia of feu, j teng of ust, reyes and padilla of up although you can't consider padilla as a rookie coz he has played in the ncaa (correct me if im wrong). Dlsu's rookies hasshowed promise but been inconsistent as of yet, but so has the whole team.

as for the loss to up, another blow to the final four chances. now dlsu should win all their games and hope ue and ust also losses to lower tier teams. if thearchers don't reach the final four would this be the first time they didn't reach it under coach pumaren? oh well, hope the rookies can grow after thisyear and improve every year, coz don't want to end up like UP which also had a great rookie batch before but couldn't make it in the future or now.reyes and co's batch is almost out. also hope that norberto torres is

coz i don't see anyone in the current lineup who can be the dominant go-to-guy that can easily score when needed. there are some with potentiallike webb (but can't go to his left), marata (one dimensional player so far), villanueva (too soft), bringas (inconsistent but has the best potential amongthe archers IMO), oh and if revilla can get his prev form back in the coming years he can be the floor leader that could put dlsu on the right track.

atkins graduated from hs about 3 years ago and he was a complete package for high school level.. Mikee had to choose between UE or UP because those were theonly schools who were aggressive on him. ofcourse he chose UP mainly coz of education and playing time.. franz had to bank on his RP line up recruits... mikeehad few grood games in the NCAA jrs level but overshadowed still by martin reyes who was their main man in lsgh.

good point lbj19... mikee is around 5'6" but this kid is really athletic..that's how good this batch of rookies really are... but thank God DLSUgot most of them... and they still have quality guys waiting in line...

He is a Mythical First Team for me though

If Llagas gets any award, he should give half of that award or credit to Paul Lee. Lee creates so much attention when he drives to the hoop that when he passesit to Llagas all he has to do is put the ball in the hoop. Lots of easy basket for Llagas. IMO Llagas should treat Lee after every game with all of those easybaskets courtesy of Lee's penetration and passes.
