The waiver clause wouldn't be able to be obtained until after 10 months of not playing. This summer would be a wash, if they're going to pursue KD assuming he doesn't sign a long term deal, Whiteside would have to be let go this summer. Wade would be able to sign another 1 year deal. They'd basically be swapping KD for Whiteside while all the while still retain the rights to Bosh after he's able to play. But his cap/tax number isn't in the books at that point. Very shrewd business move, but if anyone can pull it off it's Riles.

serious question but why would any top FA want to sign with the Heat? The organization clearly shows no loyalty to their players.

If they continue to feed the story they're afraid he'll die on the court and their own doctors don't clear him to play, I don't see why not. If they don't advance to the Finals, that's only the 1st two months of next season and Riles would have pulled one of the biggest coups of all time.

the heat will have played about 20 games, Bosh isnt just gonna be sitting quietly on the bench waiting to get waived. This would be the biggest headline of next season. It'd just be an ugly situation & the NBPA is already getting involved. Season tips off in October & by that point he would have had 7-8 months off.
The thought of not playing until after December is ridiculous.

This is VERY true. Just look at guys like Haslem and Mourning. They basically have jobs for life. They're getting that Memphis Bleek treatment.
