2024 MLB Thread; RIP Willie Mays & Pete Rose. Dodgers win #8!

You can't get enough velocity on letting loose your bat on a swing...You'd basically just have to hope the bat rotation lands and also hits the pitcher in a bad spot, which is less likely. Now, if the batter held onto his bat while charging the mound, he can use his advantage as a batter to swing at the pitcher much like a pitcher uses his advantage of being a thrower of the baseball to intentionally hurt the batter by throwing at him.

And there's a Dodgeball joke in here somewhere.

The Manny/Trot examples were a lil off.

I'm thinkin more flail at pitch, let bat go kinda shin high, bouncing off the grass. Not gun the bat, just enough to make your intention understood.

Stroll out towards the mound to get your bat back, say a few words....

Clevinger out 2 months
Lester to the IL
Kershaw still hurt

Tribe somehow still 7-3, on a five-game winning streak. To be fair, Cleveland has played CWS, Toronto and Detroit. And we lost two of three against Minny in the opening series. Clevinger's back injury hurts coupled with Lindor out. As we've seen with Kersh, back injuries can be no joke for SP with prolonged effects. Berrios is looking like the best pitcher in the division along with Bauer.

I think the Rays are for real. Kevin Cash is doing a great job as manager. It's just a shame their division is so damn competitive with NYY and Boston perched at the top. Their pitching depth is strong. Snell, Morton, Glasnow at the top. Snyder has reigned in Glasnow's command, cutting down the walks. Pretty deadly squad once they get it to Castillo and Alvarado with a lead.

Still believe the Reds will comfortably surpass their win total from 2018. Pegging Cincy for 75-78 victories despite the poor start. Their eight losses have come by a combined 15 runs. Puig only has four hits in a contract year. Winkler hasn't gotten going, although he smacked a homer yesterday. NL Central is a beast top to bottom though.

BtownKj BtownKj , you a Reds supporter?

This the version of Luis Castillo I've been waiting for (and Berrios too). 25 Ks in just under 20 innings of work in three starts. Only two runs allowed.

I'm a fan of Amir Garrett because he played ball at SJU. Didn't pan out as a starter but he's looking like a solid lefty out the bullpen. Hasn't allowed a single run in five appearances.
