LAKELAND, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) - A Kissimmee woman and a passenger in the Lamborghini she was driving were killed Sunday after the car crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed into another vehicle, police said.
The driver of the second vehicle was in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
Tiffany A. Beene, 24, and Samuel Jonathan Hampton, 24, of Winter Haven died after the crash on University Boulevard, Lakeland Police said.
Beene is the daughter of Michael and Roxanne Beene, who founded Kissimmee missionary group Faith In Action, the Orlando Sentinel is reporting.
According to investigators:
Beene and Hampton were traveling westbound in a green 2008 Lamborghini when it crossed over the center median on University Boulevard and collided with a white 2013 Nissan.
Four people were transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center, where Beene and Hampton died. Linh C. Luu, 38, of St. Petersburg is in critical condition at the hospital. Tan P. Phan, 22, of Pinellas Park, a passenger in the Nissan, was treated and released.
All victims were wearing seat belts, and an investigation is ongoing, police said.
