for some reason i'm not as excited for this. Kinda reminds me of that ang lee hulk. While I liked andrew garfield in "never let me go" and "the social network" I don't buy him here as peter parker. Is Parker even a genius in this version of the film?? I see him in laboratory scenes but nothing that says nerdy to me. I have hope in this but not much.

Andrew does have that "cool guy" look to him compared to Tobey who looks like he spends his free time on a comic book store. But the more I see it, the more excited I am about it. Maybe it's the Avangers hype for tonights midnight showing and the TDKR trailer that had me real psyched (seeing it on the big screen tonight too) but I am definitely going to see this on the big screen for sure.

Definitely hyped for this -I'm even fine with the way the Lizard looks too.

I'm also warming towards Garfield, and from what I've seen and read, I'm confident they've made him sufficiently "genius" enough lol -but what I like most is that he seems to have the sarcasm and quick witted tongue of the comic book Spidey more than Maguire's version did -that scene with the hoodlum looks a perfect example "You've found my weakness, it's small knives"

Spider man 1 & 2 are two of the best superhero movies made imo.

plus im one of the few who liked Toby McGuire as Spiderman.

I was just about to say I actually liked Toby, and the first 2 were really good
I just don't see how you can have 2 movies then start all over almost with a whole new cast.

Still looks good will check it out, this will hold me over until Batman

That "nerdy" dynamic is a huge part of the Peter Parker character so we will see........
but Gwen Stacy should be interesting as opposed to Mary Jane

spiderman 3 was a giant troll movie.  between that and X3, idk which was worse...  only superhero movie i know for sure i'm gonna watch in theaters is the new batman.  even avengers looks iffy to me
