So sad. The midsole swap is atrocious. It totally ruins the continuity of the shoe. The original design of the upper should continue to the midsole. This midsole doesn't allow that. Just awful

BUT...at least they didn't give these the cliff-toe/banana shape treatment that the ATC IIs received.  I'm with you though.
 
^ I'd much rather take a bit of "banana shape" than a completely different outsole that fundamentally changes the shoe.

True. I just got excited when I saw the toe box.  Haven't seen a toe box like this from nike since like 99.  Gives me hope that one day they might actually get a retro done correctly.

Yea I would have been happy if they used the atc outsole when the originals came out. I think overall the shape of this shoe looks better but I can understand people wanting it to be og. As long as they don't mess around with the atc I, II's, III's, and IV's I'm ok with these. I hoping that they fix the black/gold par to at least make the color true to the og and the heel as well. It can't be faded out like that.

Nike always finds a way to throw a curve ball. They're not bad looking but come on...they couldn't use the correct outsole? I'm afraid to see what they will do with other upcoming tech challenge retros.
 
I love Agassi's shoes. I had these in the white/teal color way but with the sole swap they did Im going to pass on these. I want to see them retro the ATC 2 & 3 again. Then give us the ATC 4, Air Flare (like the one in my avatar) and various other Agassi models.
