Lobo, give the details on the FCW guys.
Here's the latest on FCW, WWE NXT, and FCW NXT from this week's Observer.
The situation in Florida is back to confusion as at the Florida Championship Wrestling TV tapings on 5/24, it was announced that the next tapings on 6/7 would be the final ones in the facility. By normal rotation, they should tape on 6/14, but 6/14 was booked for the Winter Park tapings and those tapings will be the first night going head-to-head in the same market (Winter Park is just outside of Orlando) with TNA. Nothing is certain long-term, but right now developmental will remain in Florida at the Tampa facility and doing TV out of Winter Park. The NXT tapings are expected to move to the Bright House Network for the time being, because they need television in the area to promote the local house shows. WWE hasn’t told anyone at Bright House anything new. The deal right now is set to continue, but there is still no contract or long-term commitment. The station itself assumes everything is temporary because they haven’t talked about making a contractual deal, and figure that everything changes when they start the network and that no decisions have been made anyway. They want to keep a presence on the station because the station has coverage virtually their entire house show circuit and they are going to continue doing house shows in that part of Florida. Right now the plan is to tape NXT in Winter Park and also tape NXT on Tuesdays. The one taped in Florida may have a tag line being called NXT but also mentioning that the show features the stars of Florida Championship Wrestling. They don’t want to regional name Florida because they are sending the tapes worldwide. But the house shows will be billed as Florida Championship Wrestling and not NXT. The expectation is there are a number of changes coming to developmental, all of which are meant to be upgrades but they are going to be slow in coming. Right now there are no plans for the NXT tapings in Winter Park, FL, to air outside of the Bright House Network, but the idea of the tapings originally was not meant as a replacement for FCW, since they had dates on different Thursdays for both tapings concurrently dating ahead months before plans changed. The last word was the NXT shows would not air on the WWE web site, which will likely continue to air things taped on Tuesdays at the Smackdown tapings. The idea, and this can change, is that they don’t want the new show on the web site and have it stigmatized as an Internet show. The feeling is that would make it harder to sell to a broadcast network as something worth paying for when the company has given it away for free on the site. But given that most figure it ends up on the WWE Network in November, and not on something like a WGN that pays the company for content, I’m not sure how that matters. The Winter Park tapings, which at least when the first tapings were done, were scheduled to be in the NXT time slots internationally but were taped to be “evergreen,
