it doesn't always work that way. adidas would have been all on getting kanye back because they know yeezys would sell, but instead everyone fell for that false rumor. they just wanna milk sambas and gazelles as much as they can
People were coming out of the woodwork when those rumors were circulating, and telling people how they were wrong for thinking Adidas did the right thing for letting him go.
Using endorsements from celebs and influencers to push their heritage sneakers is probably the best move for them at the moment.

I think he is insanely influential in music but, much like Beyoncé/Taylor Swift/Bieber/Olivia Rodrigo, etc. etc that doesn’t translate to fashion and especially to sneakers in the way that it did for Ye. I think part of it was Ye’s consistently good designs and also his influence on the fashion world in general.
