I can't speak for everybody but I myself collect Doernbecher's which is why I purchased them.

I must say, once you first accept that they're designed by a kid, they're actually nice in person. I like them. This is in reference to this year's 3's...

^Correct. I've worn 2's, 5's (high), 8's, and 13's to different SneakerCons. Other than those, I don't wear any of them and have no plans on ever wearing them. Wait, I said if I ever go to another SneakerCon then I might pull out DB1's. Other than that, I just collect these and all my sneakers. I don't actually wear them.
