Anyone know info about these Foamposite Boots?

Nobody was really talking about these when the original articles on Nike websites were created. In fact, not even consignment shops around my area have any idea what I'm talking about. First off, let me start by saying I was interesting in getting some new boots, my current ACG's have just about lost their treads, and the upper is starting to crack from the all-season weather I've been exposing them too. I've seen that the foamposite material can withstand quite a lot of damage from the environment, and were interested in these:

A simple google images search provided me with the eggplant colorway and a few others. I guess what I'm trying to say is, were they officially released by Nike at one point? How long ago? and Is it possible to grab them from anyplace?

Yea these were released by Nike a couple years back. I dont know if stores still stock em tho

Thanks for the info, I wonder if these were mass made since not even Ebay have a surplus of these listed.

I passed on em for $79.99 at marshals...

if they had the black for that price I woulda scooped.

$79.99 is not bad for a boot, especially since timberland boots are usually $89.99+ and so are some other brands. I wonder how good the quality of the treads on these are.(If they will serve well on ice/snow more than my current ACGs, which started out great when I got them in 2009)

I have a pair of the all-black joints. They were pretty easy to buy back in 2010; I paid $120 for them on eBay that summer. You can still find pairs on eBay too.

Honestly, although they're tanks, I don't wear them too often for that very reason. I prefer the Bakin Boots and regular Goadomes over these.

I only break them out when the weather gets really ugly, and in the ATL area, that's not too often.

I own a blue pair and man, these things are tanks! I only wear them during the winter when it rains. The tread has great traction, but they're heavy. I can't believe they retailed for $225 a few years ago.

Geez, that's two comments about these being tanks. I wanted something that was good for ice/snow, but also something I wouldn't mind wearing as a regular boot even if its just a brisk day without any other abnormalities. Seems like NYC is not a cold enough region to get the most use out of these.

I think Bakin boots will be your best bet, they are way lighter than Foamdomes and are still tanks. I bought mine two years ago on clearance, and they still look new...

Alright, I'll check out how some of these Bakin Boots feel. I guess its time to head to some outlets that are around.

Yeah those are always an answer, but these are retailing for about $250, not really an option for me at the moment. Thanks for the contribution though.

Id pick the FP1 boots up if I found for 79.99. any more than that, hell no!

I'mma be honest, I want em lol. Even the price now is attractive due to my hookup but I'll wait until they go on sale.
