Can somebody explain this cut to me?

This haircut is commonly referred to as an aggressively tight taper. You will notice the hair is actually tapered shorter at the front hairline and a pointed element runs through the crown, creating a very contemporary shape.


I don't really understand that; I normally get a uniform 2.
If I showed my barber the picture, he shouldn't have a problem doing it, right? What do you think the lengths are?
 
I used to get that in HS, it's pretty much just a fade but tell him to use a longer clip for the top. I always told him to use an 8 on mine and it wasabout that length

looks like a 5 or 6 guard on top, and just taper the sides as short you want.
