Exactly. The real art world i.e. not the one that functions around showing sneaker or streetwear works in essential what amount to clothing boutiques requiresyou to have any ability to convey your conceptual ideas into words to give context. Clearly when viewing the work people create their own context of what awork is or isn't about. But the artist statement even simply explaining your practice if not individual works of art as well is how the contemporary artworld functions. Simply put you need to contextualize your work with text before anyone can take your work seriously on an intellectual level beyond simpleskill or talents involved in it's creation. Art is function of the conceptualized idea not just an exercise of skill or talent.
