Decent Mp3 players Vol NO iPod!

ahh, planned obsolescence.

my 60 gig video just broke 1 month out of warranty. my options are:

-pay $130 to get a replacement, refurb (which of course, i'll lose all 5500 songs)
-get !10% off a new one to trade in my broken one

(that's like aslap in the face, you know they just fix it and sell it to someone like the above option)
-repair it with some 3rd party for like $100

i'll leave out my long rant about how apple sucks and they don't stand behind their product (see xbox360 for hints apple), and ask who has a non-iPodmp3 player that they would recommend?

it all depends on what the mp3 files you're listening to are encoded in and the headphones you are using
all of my music is good quality and i also have some good headphones

do you have any idea what you're talking about?
the ipod has NOTHING to with the sound quality.

the quality has everything to do with the original music file and not the gadget it's stored in.

it was a gift.

ipods have everyone by the sack, so much that people defend them like they made them. like every other mp3 player is a cheap knock off. in fact, the ipodis probably one of the cheapest made mp3 players so you HAVE to get applecare or buy a new one a year. it's done on purpose.

honestly fix your ipod. go to http://www.thepoddrop.com/ they help you out. plus they'll probably fix it withoutlosing all your songs and stuff.

I have a 2GB Sandisk Sansa Clip for $60 and I seen it as low as $40.

It has FM Radio, Voice Recorder and the sound quality is excellent. It's also small and easy to control (nh) but the clicking does get kinda annoying butit's worth it.

Theres a 4GB one for $80

Never was crazy about the EQ settings on the iPod....I have always been an "iAudio" person, word to 60gb hard drive.

Plus, its basically like an external hard drive, you can store anything in there and create folders. Oh, and you can click/drag music out of there, which issomething you can't do with iPods.

hwo can say that ipod's are cheaply made? i've had my 4g ipod for close to 4 years now and it's still running strong. i've dropped it god knowshow many times and it's still working like it did out box. is it apple's fault you broke it after the warranty expired? no. don't blame apple forsomething they have no control over.

I've had three ipods. Only one of them broke and it was totally my fault - I cracked the screen. It was still under warranty so Apple gave me a refurbfor free.

Don't be mad because a company can't give out a lifetime of free stuff just because you bought a product once.

when did i say i broke it? the headphone jack just stopped working. i never dropped it or anything. that's cool that yours is still working but iknow tons of people that have their just over a year ipods break. here, read up

you ipod fan boys crack me up. i'm not mad, i just sure as hell won't spend my money on an ipod. that's why i asked the question. if you onlyown an ipod, why reply?

I have a very basic Coby 512 MB unit and it's pretty good. They do make larger units that might be worth looking into.
