So I’ve recently fallen in love with the Gundam 98’s however since they’re deadstock the place I’ve been looking for them is on ‘Depop’ (a second hand clothing app). The app is well trusted and I’ve used it many times but it obviously has its fair share of fake clothing and footwear, one thing that stuck out to me when I was looking through some of the Gundams that are on sale there, is that about half the Gundams that are on sale have a white pattern on the sole which leads out to the body of the shoe and finishes. The first thing I thought when I saw this was that they were fake but I’ve started to notice more and more of the black and white sole 98’s with even trusted users on the site selling them. The white paint seems to just finish abruptly asif a 5-year old painted the shoe but the price for the trainers are the same as the typical completely black soled 98’s. So my question is are these black and white soled Gundams fake?
I’ll attach one image with the white paint on the bottom (I couldn’t find an image with the white striped pattern on the sole) and another image of a typical 98 Gundam which doesn’t have any paint on the tread.
