Nope not normal.  If you go the Euro Delivery route, you have to physically take delivery in Munich.

The car is priced differently as it's not pulled from dealer inventory.

Also, I live in WA.

Where at? We got a lot of meets in Seattle and the Vancouver/PDX area. Catch one sometime, youll be in the presence of amazing M's like yours

Germany requires winter tires in November.  I rented some for the trip.

Rolf was your delivery specialist! (He was mine too.) I did a Euro Delivery for a 335i E90 in LeMans Blue back in July. Awesome experience! Nice car sir!

If you don't mind me asking, how much did the car cost you by getting it via euro delivery vs in the states? about how much did you spend on the trip and total?
i think this is something id like to experience in the near future.

BTW, while you're in Cali anyway, may I recommend the drive up back to WA through the PCH. Even at this time of the year, the sights are pretty

Good eye man  Yup he was pretty good in explaining many of the M's features.  I don't think he cared for the Lemans Blue on Fox Red though.

How's the 335i treating you?

The car was in the low $60's (almost $10k less than off a dealer lot).  The trip total came out to near $5k.  I know some people have literally flown in, taken delivery, dropped their car off and left within 12 hours to minimize travel costs.

Good catch.  I never even tried it out there.

PCH is the plan.  I'm gonna take a week off work and make a trip out of it.

I thought the travel pice was included? Dope pics and car, any recommendations for the trip or delivery?

No sir.  It was still worth it IMO.  First time in Europe, so I looked at it as a vacation.

Trip Reccomendations

Definitely take as much time out there as you can.  We only went for a week and I felt we were rushed.  If I were to do it again, I would've spent more time in the Alps and gone into Austria and Italy.  I also would've gone in the Spring/ Summer.  I think two weeks minimum is needed for a trip like this.

Delivery Recommendations

Ordering a BMW nowadays is "Al a carte'".  That being said, stay within your budget when optioning out your car but don't starve yourself.  Saving $2k off the total purchase price for an option you like but don't want to pay for will get you later.  Build exactly what you want.  Definitely check out the plant, museum and everything else at BMW Headquarters.  Last.. drive FAST on the Autobahn.  I passed a cop out there doing well over 100 MPH and he didn't blink an eye.  Their highway system is far superior to ours.
