The competition is much more difficult, though.

Hopefully that makes sense.

how didn't he get greedy? kept 500k (half a million dollars) thinking he was going to make it into 2-3 millions, then keep that much there and make it into 5-10...

seriously? You didn't think at some point that 'wow this is a lot of money and i would really rather have it in real money rather than virtual' ?

I am not arguing from a legal/moral perspective that it is wrong or whatever, I am saying that you should have known that it isn't black and white in the US, and take what you can JUST IN CASE.

Is it safe to say that you won't keep more than 20k in your online accounts anymore after these pop back up?

why would the sites refund you that much (knowing they have a legitimate excuse not to --prosecution, jail time, etc.), and why would the government refund you money on profit earned illegally?

You got greedy brother, just like the guys with the ponzi schemes. If you are that good you should go play at the casino and legitimately earn the money so you don't have to worry about things like this.

Good luck.

Yea I get you. I just recently started playing consistently at the casino and have been doing pretty well. I played small wagers just to get my feet wet on full tilt before and did ok. Still have a lot to learn, just sucks to hear this since I was actually planning on playing online now that I was doing well at the live games.

I also have a hundred + in my ps account but im skeptical about 500k. I know he doesn't care but what did he expect...post that he won 500k and people just accept it as a fact? I seriously don't believe you can work your way to 500k with the stakes going on in either poker rooms. Its rather you consistently win in multiple cash games or won once in one of those wcoop / ftop events. The beats on pokerstars and fulltilt are horrendous. I remember losing three hands straight where the other guy had less than 3-6 outs

If he has 500k he's played a lot more hands than you ever have, and wouldn't be complaining about the hands you are

Things will be fine with time on this one, nobody needs to worry

Well, I don't look at money the same way the average person looks at money.

Like I said earlier, money is just a tool that I need in order to work.

To you its 500k, to me its just X amount of buy ins.

Obviously if I come in here talking about buy ins nobody will know what I'm talking about, so I said I had 500k.

At this point, I'm more concerned with my future than my money being tied up, because as of right now I'm out of a job.

I've made a good amount of money playing online poker, but when I first started playing I didn't set a monetary goal.

Myonly goal was to be one of the best players in the World by the time Iwas 25, and now with the shutdown of online poker I'm not too sure thatthat's possible.

What did you start with roll wise Hyper? And what age? We have very similar thoughts

I have been doing sports primarily since the age of 15, but have switched over to poker moreso over the last 6-8 months, and now intend on only doing college basketball sport wise from here on out, with a bit of MLB (a bit of CFB too, possibly)

I've deposited twice on PS and once on FTP, $600 each time.

My first deposit was on PS when I was 18.

I ended up running it up to 8K the first week and thought I was a God.

I wasn't,

.

Ended up going broke the following week and took a huge break from poker.

I was just about to turn 19 and deposited $600 on both PS and FTP and pretty much locked my self in my room for the next 2 years.

I was playing/studying poker anywhere from 60-100 hours a week.

I know nothing about sports betting but I hear its extremely tough, I wish you nothing but the best, though.

I feel like as long as you're willing to put the time and work in, you'll reach whatever goals you have.

Haha, did similar things with sports...very valuable lessons learned (first big score was $400 to 12k and it was gone within the next month)

You did the right thing though, I wish I had put as much effort into poker these past few years as I have with sports - as sports are definitely much tougher than poker. I think I'll always bet sports on occasion, but never as frequently or as high as stakes as poker,

Running 500k off 600 is amazing, definitely doable, which is what's great about poker in general

I wouldn't worry about getting your $ eventually though, you will, and overall this whole thing happening is going to be good for poker IMO (will finally be fully "legal" and there won't be that slight worry that hangs over many of our heads)

GLTY as well

Found out from my cousin... He is a full time grinder. Dude is a mess right now.

From the info I've gathered from 2+2... I personally think the money is gone. I just don't want to be the one to tell him.

This sucks.

I'm playing a cash game on Full Tilt right now with no problems. I haven't tried to withdraw any money though.
Pokerstars hasn't let me put money on there in months due to US banking.

Are you implying playing more hands mean bad beats are no longer a nuisance? Look, doesn't matter if you're a pro or a grinder. A bad beat will always linger in your mind. How many times have you seen Mattusow or Hellmuth blow up.
