read the book because the author is one of my favorites. Should be good, but it'll be interesting how they play up the supernatural portion of this as the book doesn't really give an explanation of what happened, its more about the people that were left behind and how they cope with their lives after. kinda like how in "the road" doesnt tell you what happened to the world and why it was like that, they just follow the father and son around as they try to survive

thought only 2% of the population was going to be left.....

i'll probably watch the first few episodes

Lil tired of supernatural shows...but since its hbo ill check it out

^Yeah Lost wasn't my cup of tea back then but since it's on HBO, I always give them the benefit of the doubt.

Maaaaan I'm so heated
This was the premise of a show I had for in like 2007
I even talked about it in that script writing thread we have :{
Missing out on millions right now

Anyone know the song they are playing with that guy singing in the background? In the first trailer

Wonder why he didn't go with the Left Behind series instead.

Anybody read both books, the Left Behind series and the Leftovers. Which one is better

Yeah the commercials and trailers for this make it seem like a weak show to me. Involving the word rapture aint helping much either. Lindelof name being part of it doesn't help but this is based off a book so to me he'd affect how the show looks and operates which could be a good thing cuz LOST had a really good flow as far as telling the story.

The only thing that interests me is the initial premise. Feels like I've read something with a similar concept but not rapture

I'm so anti-Lindelof.... But because it's hbo I might end up tuning in

Ever since his tap dancing on lost, I've never forgiven that dude.

Plus the whole rapture premise is old and dumb... Damn you hbo
