You lost me with that sentence

Best bet for me would probably check out a lot in store and see which I would prefer. I mainly listen to hip hop(and also a fair share of house/trance/electronica etc) and love bass, just not where the bass actually takes over the song itself if you know what I mean. I enjoy it, but I'm not one of those dudes where my mirrors are vibrating from the bass and can barley understand the song

My computer is about 13 months old or so all hand built parts from newegg. I just don't know how the on board sound card is. Its a DFI Blood Iron P35 mobo.

I'm going to check out that site as well and just browse and try and absorb as much info as I can. But would the 1st focus is to find the highquality files itself.. cause it would be pretty pointless to invest in all that equipment to just listen to a low quality bitrate file?

Thanks again.
Yeah, low bitrate=bad

heres a good article for everyone on here: http://www.stereophile.com/features/308mp3cd/

If you have CDs of the songs you like, you can go on Itunes and burn them using Apple Lossless encoder, or you can try to find FLAC files on the internet(Boomkat sells, you can find torrents of the songs most likely)

Realtek ALC885 on that mobo isn't the highest quality audio codec, so you should get a noticeable improvement.

And btw, the question was just a little teaser into the crazy world that is headphones

I'm not a big fan of the V-Moda Vibes. The bass is really muddy. For less money, I would get the Sennheiser CX300s. The Sennheiser PX100s are prettygood though.
