Cosign... but i find it hard to believe that Kobe wont have the same problem when he fades... BUT let me make this clear tho Kobe =/= AI
Thats the thing, A.I. skills havent went anywhere...But by your 13th year in the league and no hardware to show for it,no GM is gonna build a team around him anymore. He just has to realize that and hell be iight.

On another note, Kobe aint fading

Exactly

Kobe's decline is gonna be an abrupt flameout. Outta nowhere.
kobes work ethic > iverson work ethic
kobes desire to win > iversons desire to win

it frustrates me as someone whos always liked iverson because as good as he has been, i always think he could have been so much better.

LMAO ... now we're talking about work ethic and desire to win ... ... ... ... ... ... if kobe "desired to win" so much he would have put his mefirst personality aside and did everything he could to keep shaq in la ... save all that bs for ignoramouses ...

ALL superstars except tim duncan are selfish, pompous and #+#%#@$* ... kobe is no different he just happens to be on a team with talent ... this man kobe jacksas much as ai does but because hes 6 inches taller, his fg% is higher because he can dunk anytime he wants ...

people always look at ai's fg% like its bad, imagine if jordan couldnt sky to the rim and dunk every time down the court ... same with lebron and kobe ...hell lebron may shot under 40% if he had to shoot as much as ai ... iverson shoots jumpshots 90% of the time when kobe and lebron and mj take it to the rackmost of the time

See, I've always disagreed with that. I do acknowledge that Payton has a ring.

I mean, basically, you've reduced champions to just the 3 or 4 people mainly responsible, meaning that pretty much just Garnett, Allen, and Pierce won last year. Posey didn't win another one, because he didn't play enough minutes? He hit some big shots, but he still just played a role that was secondary to Allen, Pierce, and Garnett. Payton (and Posey, and the rest of the Heat) played roles that were secondary to Wade and Shaq.

While the NBA would appreciate that perspective (because they'd only have to issue maybe 2 or 3 rings to every champion every year), I hate it, because it detracts from the entire team concept. Payton was a part of that team, a winning team, a champion team. Sure, his role could have been filled by someone else from another team, but it wasn't filled by someone else. It was filled by him.

Is it his fault he was once great and the team that he won a ring on only saw him as a shell of his former self? Nope. Is it his fault that the second-fiddle Payton was just a role player, like Posey, instead of a primary option, like he used to be? No, not at all.

Same with Iverson, or anyone else reduced to a role much lesser than the glamorous role they used to play.

I've never had a problem with "ring chasing."

It's more of a problem for fans to see their favorite players reduced to role players. But anyone who has ever played sports - particularly in basketballwhere the team is so small - knows that every player has an important role in practice.

So in that sense, I have no problem with what Mitch or GP did.

On a specific note, I forget what game it was in the Finals, but GP made some huge plays at the end of one game and pretty much won it by himself. That'sworth a ring right there.

I don't know what point you're trying to make, but... when Randy Moss went to New England, they had a perfect regular season.

That's... basically... the complete opposite of what's going on in Detroit.

Color me confused.
EXACTLY ... did you here randy complain? how about last year when they were stinking it up and welker was cassells number 1? randy has no right to say anything if the patriots are winning and even when they werent, he knew that the organization had put the program in place to win, they just werent getting it done at the time ...

we talking randy moss now? im not putting any credibility behind a guy who says he plays when he feels like it

LilStarZ07: you made the most sense out of almost anybody in this post

Totally Agree.

This kind of reminds me when I went to this Old School hip hop concert and saw Bobby Brown perform...my man really thought that it was 88' and he was theman

AI still has skills and can contribute, but definitely not as the #1 option. Send him to Toronto or Dallas and he'll be fine.

I think it's unfair to call him selfish. He just feels he can contribute more to a team, nothing wrong with that. How many superstars in the league wouldaccept the role that Iverson has been given?

I'm sure those superstars would feel the exact same way.

I don't think he necessarily wants to be the "main guy" on a team but wants to be on a winning team where he'll be able to contribute more.

Probably a situation similar to last year's Celtics team.

replace rip with ai and the pistons still win all their ships ... sometimes teams just suck

L O L .

Chauncey and Rip formed one of the more solid back curts in the league because they knew each other well and fit in well into the teams philosophy.

If A.I. was there they would not have won jack %!!*.

I know its a joke.... but i really cant see Kobe, the crazy competitor he is, being cool with coming off the bench getting 14 mins a game. I was the one of thefirst to say that this was gonna be BAD... AI is not wired to come off the bench at age 24, 34 or 44.... it aint happening

Let him be. Some people don't want to put pride to the side in situations and would rather just hang em up. If he isn't starting or putting up 20 plusshots per game he isn't happy. Might as well hang em up. I seen him in person at mgm casino in Detroit more than the Palace.

You're making excuses for AI.........

That's all his riders do is point to what if's and what might have been's, and he used too.........

Point to the Wins that mattered. College, NBA, show me a team other then the one season where he had the defensive player of the year, the 6th man of theyear, the coach of the year, that AI made the team a LEGIT title contending team. Not a run and gun have a good time fun offense team, a LEGIT title chance.

You won't find one. Cuz AI wasn't about that. He was just lookin for the next jumpshot.

Ok, that last line was me ODin a little, but you get what I'm gettin at.
laugh.gif

dude needs to go to either memphis or oklahoma city. with his game and attititude, he needs to be the only star on the team. as we can see, he doesn't gowell in situations that use the 'team' mentality, so instead of making a good team bad, he should just make a bad team decent, similar to what he didin Philly. It's almost obvious to me that he should go to Memphis tho, i actually think he would fit in with them.

If he goes to Memphis, guess what, he doesn't wanna win, and he'll want them to trade Oj, Gasol, Rudy Gay, and whoever else will take his shots. Watch.
laugh.gif

And Marley, don't come in here yellin at me, or I'll take my avy down so fast you won't even know.

Nah, I'm jus playin man, I wouldn't do that to you bro, breathe man, breathe!!!
roll.gif

smh.gif
at some of these excuses. You would think that after being in the league for over a decade and being 6'0, he would have adjusted his shot selection
laugh.gif

See this is what I don't understand. Any good team or one that has a remote chance of contending that AI goes to, will result in him having a reduced role. He's not gonna get all the shots and minutes he wants if that's what is considered contributing. Like I said if he wants to jack it up, go to a teamfull of scrubs or a bad team, where he won't be competing for shots and minutes cause any good team probably already has someone decent at his position whoeither does that or buys more into the team concept. Whether he's coming off the bench or starting, AI is not a number one option anymore, and the soonerhe realizes that the better.

Monte
A.I.
S Jax
Randolph/Wright
Biedrins

Perfect fit. Shoot first mentality with no defense.

stuckey should come off the bench. thats the only way detriot would have a chance in the first round.
