first time buying 5's and I need some help to verify that they're legit

These are legit. Nothing to worry about here. The infrared will look different with different lighting and flash/no flash. Some pics will look pink and sometimes even red.

What's the best way of telling if there fake with the 3lab5s is the the elephant print not being quite the same

Thanks for the responses. And I think its the whole colouring of the sole and elephant print. Soles are usually darker and elephant print lighter than black. And also the tongue size?
