What went wrong? How did someone with so much promise, so young..basically resort to making corny songs for **** that go to the club in 5 degree weather dressed like a thot, that scream "yasssss" the entire time?

I just..i thought dude would be chris brown biggest competition. When dude was on drakes SFG mixtape, that was when he was was everywhere. But almost in a sense drake ruined his career.

chapter 5 had some good songs on it
but a lot of wack songs
if he would have put inside pt.2

on their it woulda been an instant classic

He hasn't transformed because he didn't go pop, so most of the white audience isn't there. He also doesn't make dance music, and most of his songs have to do with girls/sex so he has a different aura about him. I actually prefer it this way, rather than only having like 3/4 real R&B tracks then everything else being pop/party nonsense a la Chris Brown.

i agree with OP somewhat ; Trey has clearly fallen off . his music used to have an edge when his content was more in line with a "ladies man" . his last project was way too sappy and romantic IMO , and naturally the fans he gained through songs like "Invented Sex" and "Last Time" aren't feeling that

If you listen to Miguel's albums there is not that many "traditional" R&B tracks on it. A lot of it is somewhat alternative

Ready was a great album to me. Pain whatever had some good songs on it but after that I haven't liked anything dude has put out. IDC what anybody says Trey can sing but his problem is he's making corny radio **** now like op said and his rapping is weak, son was rapping about drinking girls juices on Fab's Soul Tape 2.


He needs to let Dream write and produce for him. Dreams lyrics and beats with his voice would be great.
