HAYDEN, Idaho -- A man in northern Idaho who believed he bore the biblical "mark of the beast" used acircular saw to cut off one hand, then cooked it in a microwave and called 911, authorities said. The man, who is in his mid-20s, was placed in protectivecustody at a mental health center.[table][tr][td] [/td] [/tr][/table]It's not clear if the man has a history of mental illness or if attempts were made to reattach the hand.

Unlikely that they tried to reattach it - the microwave would have ruined any chances of the hand being viable.
