Nah, Manny has openly said several times in the past that he was a Jays fan growing up because he liked that they had several good Hispanic players in the 70s and 80s.

Manny can still play...look at how well Vladi has done at DH for the Rangers. I think any club that can sign Manny for a decent price (around $5 mill) is taking a worthwhile risk. Vladi signed a 1 yr/$5.5 mill deal with the Rangers after coming off a poor season with the Angels. Manny is coming off 2 supbar seasons and he is 38 so I think he can be had for around $5 mill.

Still, that is not as egregious as Mike Hampton choosing to sign with the Colorado Rockies because he REALLY liked the school system in Denver. Yes, SCHOOLS.
