If Will Smith didn't die with the zombies, it would have never ended. They woulda kept tracking him down and following him to the camp and ultimately destroying society. Will had to die in order to preserve society.

I don't understand why everyone seemed to hate the ending to this movie. I thought the ending had significance and it's a pretty typical ending for aCoen Brothers movie.

Oh no I get it, it's just it was terrible compared to the alternate ending, which the whole movie basically built up to. The theatrical ending just madeabsolutely zero sense with all the build up going on.

Wasn't really a bad ending, just too convoluted/quick wrap up in like 5-10 minutes.

Movie peaked way before that so the ending was just a big let down.
