Do not live that far away from Irvine.

And Brea for 1500 isn't happening. If you are all in on Irvine, Costa Mesa might work.

I should have a clearer picture of which office I would transfer to within 2 months. Right now, I'm stacking as much as I can before the move.

My monthly expenses will go up by $1,000 I'm estimating. :frown:

But it'll be worth it for our lifestyle.

Received a call Friday evening and was offered the job in Laguna Niguel.:pimp: Time to start preparing on moving and researching some apartments.

Seen a couple places in Aliso Viejo and Laguna Niguel, but some of the reviews are kind of sketch or worrisome. But from the advice I've been given, the area in general is nice.

IMO, South Bay (Redondo Beach)>Irvine/OC. More centrally located and way closer to LA while still having that suburban life.

But then again, I live in LA and rarely go down to OC let alone Irvine. I have been going down to Fullerton more often with some friends living there now. If you do move to Fullerton, expect to live amongst lots of my Korean people

Wouldn't live in DTF, too far.

Irvine would be perfectly fine since you have a family.

So we started looking up apartments near Laguna Niguel and a lot of the reviews are kind of disturbing. Hoping I could find a nice spot not too far work or a privately owned apartment with a good landlord.

Checking out some spots in Irvine this weekend. Didn't know rent prices were higher there.

Aliso Viejo isn't too bad. People seem friendly lol

Costa Mesa a good place to check out?

Nah man Santa Ana has been and is still ghetto as hell. One of my cousins use to work at a Holiday Inn in Santa Ana and every time I would he see him at family get togethers and we would be chillin & choppin it up he would tell me the crazy stories he would have to deal with while he was at work. How hookers, pimps, druggies would show up and check in. He one time got a car license plate and called the cops on dudes who were holding up & robbing gas stations and liquor stores in the areas.

Glad my cousin no longer works at that hotel and now works in the post office.

Honestly haven't heard that before and my cousins have lived in the area for over 10 years. Maybe crime has gone up recently. I use to go up there almost every other weekend to visit my cousins. Yes there are a bunch of Asians in the area but the area really lacks Seafood supermarkets, Filipino bakeries, and Filipino fast food places. For that type of stuff you'll have to head up to Cerritios which is literally Filipino central in the OC.

But yeah Laguna Niguel, Aliso Viejo, and Mission Viejo for as long I remember has been a quiet community for rich white people and lots of retirement communities.

A nearby up and coming area is Rancho Santa Margarita the trade off though will be the traffic and the price of rentals in the area.

RSM is pricey, would be surprised if they have some apartments on the cheaper end.
