Turn off your modem for a few minutes and then turn it on again. If that doesn't work open up your connections and disable your network card and then enable it again. My connection used to slow to a crawl about once per month until I replaced the network card.

Just go to "connect to" on the start menu>open network and sharing center>View Statusisable. Leave the status window open so you can easily enable it again, or click on diagnose and then "fix the problem". If that doesn't work you may want to call your ISP.
