Say what you want about NaS, of course his catalog is impressive from a music standpoint.. But whos really gonna brush their nose @:

7 straight Platinum albums

Now thats not too bad IMO...

2 Most recent albums Gold

5 #1 albums...

All albums debut in the Billboard Top 10 with the exception of Illmatic (which has since went platinum) & God's Son (also platinum)

[Star] Show that man some damn respect[/Star]

Quality of music aside, if we just counted chart success and longevity NaS is prolly one of maybe 3 or 4 cats who have enjoyes GREAT chart success for such a LOONG period of time (Jay Z/Ice Cube/Snoop Dogg/LL Cool J) being the others that I can think of...

Pretty decent career if you ask me...

   Additional Interesting Information:

Nas is tied for 2nd all time when it comes to rappers with #1 albums with 5 (4 solo & The Firm debut)... Tied with DMX & the late 2Pac...

Wow. I call myself a huge Nas fan and didn't know God's Son or SD went platinum. Even Untitled which I feel is damn near classic, didn't know thatwas already Gold.

OMG....before this direction WE ALL know it will take, let me be the first o say...
JAY-Z>NAS

Applaud Him brilliant career

An artist who's commercial success is often downplayed... Even frowned upon...
That's cause you can't mention his name w/o the Jay comparisons.

But son has been doing his thing.

Don't even mention the collabos (takes large breath)

This album had a huge buzz, as did Illmatic, but this joint had that commercial appeal to move units.

One of the legends...copped all his albums except...

I had da (Nastradamus, God's Son, and Streets Disciple) on bootleg...

NaS is the ONLY cat I feel comfortable putting ahead of Christopher "Frank White" Wallace...

I came to that conclusion sometime last fall...
