Nike Air Force STS/Nike Air Delta Force ST High
Nike Air Flight High/Nike Solo Flight

Nike Retro be neglecting 1989 basketball sneakers. I want all four retroed and wouldn't even care if they were in packs.
Why's Nike so stingy with retroing the white/blue-red classic colorway from the 1980's? Anyway.

This is the closet retro I have to anything pictured above.

I think the real issue is why is nike avoiding all the super-high-top shoes from that era. Its not just these, its the whole top line of basketball shoes from 88 to 93. Even when they do retro some of them, its never a high cut version, it always stops with a mid.

Man, I loved these as a kid(as you can tell by the avatar), and I keep wondering why Nike keeps retroing less popular kicks and neglecting the Flight line.

I always liked Flight 89's, but Nike started butchering them with patent leather and crazy colorways.

My opinion as to why they avoid these high tops is the extra materials involved.
But these examples are pretty standard & don't require everything that a
Nike Air Command Force or "Marty McFly" would.

They probably need the molds for these or need to remake them. I know they got the blueprints or some type of vault with the molds in it .They need to take a page from Reebok and make them as high as they can. There is an audience for these shoes

I thought the air flight lites were reasonably successful?

They already have midsole and outsole tooling so why wont they retro the air flight 89 high?

i think you're wrong
these models' style & high top cut fit right in line with

Yes there is a market for these, besides us in the sneaker community. Just think of them as "retro yeezys's" lol. People will eat em up for casual and style wear.

Also, remaking the molds for these would be really easy, they arent that complicated. They already did it for the 180 mids some years ago. Its not like they cant go to the nike vault and laser-scan a pair into a fabrication machine and pop out a mold from there in a week, if they put some effort into it.

But I sadly dont see any evidence that nike is interested in providing that kind of quality for us anymore.

it seems to me that people arent willing to play in shoes this "high", so its a difference is public style/ opinion

^ Not entirely true. I've got two hairline fractures in my ankles, courtesy of military training. I need high tops. I may be the only one, but hell that just means more for folks like me. I still love playing semi-competetive ball.  Bring back the Flight line!!!!!

Uh, Reebok? And what about the Yeezy's and Hyperdunks and junk. They are at least close to as high.
And furthermore - aren't Sky Forces retroing out? These murder those.

But I appreciate your interest. That goes for anybody that skims this thread. Leave a positive comment or two
if you think these joints are fresh. It can't hurt.

^i don't think they have retroed an original colorway of the mid, even, for 10 years though.
They did the one I have pictured - post #1 & they retroed the black-grey mid in '92 & '01 I think.
And honestly - the white/blue-red mid is my overall favorite Nike Air Flight - but it, along with
all highs, has never been retroed.

Nike isn't retroing them because they wouldn't sell. It's that simple.

The 100 people or so on Niketalk doesn't justify Nike making a production run of 100,000 or however many they make, and having them all end up at outlets.

I do think it would be cool to see a super high cut shoe like this, but I definitely wouldn't buy it.
