New Portable Net Technology Solves Age-Old Issue of Net-Less Basketball Hoops

Yeah, I saw that this morning. Pretty cool. For $30 I think I'll get one.

There's a nice court near me where they put nice new rims but with no facility for nets - no loops or holes or anything.

hope they patent this...or else im bout to take a trip to china and flood the streets..

this is brilliant

What's the purpose of the net?

Never was important to me.
I can't consistently hit 3s without a net
The bottom and opposing side of the net shows me how deep I am, it's a visual assist to me
No nets and double rims are 2 things that piss me off

Man you know how rare single rims were growing up

Neat idea. I would've never thought of it and I'm a huge hoop fan. Not sure why cats would take it with them tho. That seems weird. "lemme borrow your net, son"

The net gets em wet.

Splash johnson.

You hit that coooogh sound...bruh..its art.

Outside was where i learnrd to hoop tho. On netless rims or there was ripped net just hanging in the wind. Its all mental b. The net looks cool..but serves not real purpose. I used to love the sound of the chain net. You hit a couples 3s on that, dudes is ready to throw the hands and birds ready to top you.

Go shoot free throws (I am assuming everyone here to be an 80%+ free throw shooter in non game conditions) outdoors on a rim with no net. You'll quickly get tired of chasing the ball every single time. The outdoor court I grew up on was raised like 6 inches off the grass (major ankle turn hazard) then the adjacent grass on one side sloped into a rain ditch so if the ball went out of bounds, caught a funny bounce off the rim, you had like 2 bounces out of bounds to catch it or it was rolling down the hill into that ditch into a pile of sewage, disease, bugs, dead body parts, whatever the **** else was down there. So if nothing else, the net slows the ball coming through the hoop and makes it drop more in control, more useful in some configurations than others, like on a cage court I could see how that wouldn't matter

This is actually an ingenious idea. Oh and once you learn how to shoot on a double rim you can shoot anywhere lol. Double rims get almost no shooters roll unless you got a real soft touch. The only thing that throws me off when I play at new parks is height, some parks set their rims at sub 10 feet smh

never had a court by your house where the rim was removable? had to go hit up that one guy who had a set

This is super cool. "Splashing" a 3 on a rim with no net is one of the most annoying things ever. But with this now we're gonna have dudes out here getting salty and taking the ball and the net home
