I don't even know what a fashion purist is. It just seems like those who are really into it or in the industry can be snobby.
If Green Lantern gets rebooted, I would love to see Chris Pine as GL or Flash
Or use the GL reboot as continuation to the 2011 film; have the villain be yellow lantern Sinestro (Mark Strong from the first) and bring Idris Elba as John Stewart alongside Hal Jordan.
http://insidemovies.ew.com/2013/08/14/christian-bale-batman-50-million/“’Why would Christian Bale walk away from what is certainly going to be either the first or second highest grossing movie in the history of cinema,” he asked, when the subject of Justice League was raised. … ‘He could probably make $50 million for being in the movie 20 minutes,’ my friend observed. ‘And it would be worth every penny to the studio.’ … Sources close to Christian Bale have reportedly begun expressing their suspicions that Bale now views the Batman films in the same light that Robert Downey, Jr. views the Iron Man films. Although Downey has appeared as Tony Stark in four films in less than a decade, he’s hardly typecast as only Iron Man. Downey has balanced his action film escapades with other projects that have harnessed his talents and earned critical acclaim in the process. … Christian Bale’s future success as a Hollywood draw may need Batman every bit as much as the Batman franchise needs Bale for a few more rounds. … It goes without saying that Bale’s managers, friends, and representatives are all telling him the same. And as anyone who has ever worked with Bale will admit, the actor is incredibly sharp, business savvy, and perceptive. As a result, it seems highly unlikely that Christian Bale will bolt from Batman when the bat signal is still glimmering above the Hollywood sign with such tangible fervor.”
he's mid 30s in the Ultimate universeDoctor Strange is an older dude. WAY older than anyone JGL could portray.

Bale was never offered 50 million, it was all hypothetical

we don't know if the initial rumor had any validity so that's a dumb statement. I don't know if you've read the article but all this originated from an ebook some Everyday Joe/fanboy wrote and is selling for $2.50 It got picked up by a British tabloid then the net went crazy... there were zero sources involved just one man's speculation and his attempt to garner book sells.. The full synopsis of the book online is word for word the excerpt they posted on EWBale was never offered 50 million, it was all hypothetical

we dont know he wasnt offered that just because rumors say he wasnt
im willing to bet he was offered that and turned it down or was trying to play hardball until they upped the offer but instead they turned to afleck.
They were desperate and no doubt in my mind they would be desperate enough to offer that amount.
bale was probably one of those snobby actors who fear of being typecast and lesbian honest.... in the casual fan's eye when you think of christian bale what do you think of?
also if he were to do this movie it wouldnt have been just a one and done. there would have to be more sequels because i do not think wb would recast another batman with a story arc that will be linked to mos2.
I used to then I stopped. I must be lower than level 10 I thinkAnyone here play DC Universe on the ps3?

I'd prefer if somehow the guys behind the scenes of shield created him, the guys on the screens fury had to answer to.. Just like how they didn't completely stand behind fury and the idea of the avengers.. And then launched the nuke at the end of the movie..
Then you have how they acted at the end of avengers when fury told them about giving thor the cube and Loki.. And when fury said the avengers where going their own way..
It was shown in avengers that shield was collecting tech and building weapons.. What if they built this unstoppable machine with the mindset that they could control it..
What if they took Tony's AI intelligence (jarvis) when they had access to his house (iron man2).. And Colston was able to override Jarvis in avengers..
I can't see tony creating something he wouldn't be able to control or eventually create something better
Same thing I said when they announced he won't be in Avengers 2. These heads are too smart for their own good. Common sense and connecting dots evades them at times.I don't see why Hank Pym can't create him. He doesnt have to be introduced. This is a universe. Things can happen without being mentioned. Also don't see why he can't be introduced as his creator in Avengers 2. Some of the decisions they make for these comic book movies make no sense.
by leave it open you mean "If Chris is directing.." because that's all i ever remember him saying.. I'm sure they approached him but he seems like the type to stick to his guns. I doubt money was that big of the issue, if anything he could probably get a hefty amount of dough on the backend...we don't know if the initial rumor had any validity so that's a dumb statement. I'm pretty sure DC approached bale with the idea sometime around the time of last year when TDKR was releasing and the actors were making their global runs promoting the movie. A lot of the questions toward bale were if he would ever put the cowl back on and he always left his answers somewhat open ended but kept reiterating that Nolan had a story to tell and this would be the end of the story. I think during them they were trying to persuade him but either the script wasn't to his liking (if their was even a script then) the money wasn't enough (whatever the amount was) or the whole typecast issue came about. I still think if bale came back as batman and agreed to do a couple more films DC would be giving marvel a slight run for the money now with all this news I'm just hoping this isn't the film that collapses the DC cinematic universe
