this video is biased in the last round because you cant judge a phones dropped call due to the phone itself. its the carrier.

these phones seem to be equal, but we all know the nexus one is only achieving much higher scores than the iphone right now because its newer...
its something new that people havent gotten bored with yet and all of these reviewer are just tired of the iphone being "king".
but in June, they will be singing the iphone tune again.

im not saying the nexus one isn't a great phone, because on paper and out of the box, its an AMAZING phone, but as the year goes on, there will be another phone that out trumps the nexus one and every review site wont be praising the nexus one anymore.

the best way to see what phone is right for YOU is to go to the store and feel around for it. i dont trust videos like that because they are biased to whatever new "iphone killer" that releases.

^ You make some good points.  I agree with you.

Choosing the which phone is better, is all subjective.

I copped the N1 on release day and couldn't be any happier.
* I was rally dreading the touchscreen keyboard, but with the amount of texting I do, I pretty much got used to it within the second day.
* I'm NJ/NYC and I've never had a problem with service, internet's always fast
* I don't care about having a million apps being available since I only use about 10-15 of them and they all work great
* Voice navi, turn by turn GPS is a plus
* The bill is a little cheaper than an iPhone, not too much of a difference though
* And just little things like Google Goggles, Live Wallpapers, and the ability to move icons to keep my screen uncluttered are a plus
* The camera is really sharp. It takes really good pics
* I use my phone alot and I can get just about 2 full days with a full charge
* I did miss multi-touching at first, but that's all fixed now
happy.gif

All in all, if there was one doubt I wouldn't have enjoyed this phone, I would've returned it within the first 2 weeks and obviously, that didn't happen.

The chip in the ipad will find itself in the new iPhone then this post will be rehashed with a million people swaying back to apple.

In all honesty, the speed difference in the two is negligible since at any given moment one goes faster than the other.

This whole processor speed thing is turning into the megapixel war now. The 1.5 ghz dual core chips from TI I think will be the next step up for cellphones, not this snapdragon mess.

The only problem with that is you can't go to the tmobile store to check it out. Only way to check it out is to buy it

AT&T will be getting it soon, and Sprint eventually

If the hd2 version with android comes out....the nexus one will be useless.

That version will run the same android 2.1 and also has the snapdragon processor.

I hear the 3g sucks on the nexus one because of hardware too....but I'm content with my g1 till something big comes along.

exactly. but the thing about apple is, they usually release the iphone and its king until the next iphone drops... and usually around the time the next iphone drops other companies have a year to push out their "iphone killers" that they have been producing since the iphone model before, so it seems like around this time every year someone releases a new phone and its an "iphone killer".

and then apple adds something new to the iphone and its "king" again.

this new processor that apple has in the iPad will no doubt play some type of role in the new iphone. and considering how fast they claim it to be for the iPad, if it does seem to sneak its way into the iphone, there wont be any other phone touching its speed. and if apple adds "multitasking" (as useless i think this is for a phone, but whatever) there wont be anything for people to complain about concerning the iphone.

sure they could fix some things like the email app and the calendar which people arent too satisfied with, but that can be fixed with a firmware update...

Nope! No display model. Your right about the iPhone......once the new one drops.......the iphone will be loved again by the same people who bring it down. Its a cycle that people love to play.....

Google/Android makes big jumps every phone they release. If you compare apple and how they release its pretty minor stuff, but people still go crazy for them.

If you think about it theirs not too much stuff you can do left that will be a game changer on these phones. IMO android will always stay ahead on specs. One thing apple can do to show that their serious with the iphone is allow multi tasking but I highly doubt they will. Google G1 had multi task from the beginning and the hardware was lacking but android has grown so much since than.

Also the market place is not bad at all, bunch of free apps but its just getting bigger now that developers can charge. First year on the marketplace apps weren't sold straight from the market place. In a nut shell if you think these iphone developers aren't going to try and sell on the android platform to, your crazy.

yes, but what people keep saying is "the developers are going to move to android" etc etc..
the truth is, developers are going to go where the mass public goes. why? because thats where the money is.
also, adding multi tasking can make a phone lag. would you want multitasking if your phone moved at stupid slow speeds?

but blah i dont want to even start talking about multitasking on mobile phones
laugh.gif

the hardware thats out now just doesnt have what it takes to handle it without some sort of lag.
but whatever

Seriously. Why are background apps so damn important to y'all? They drain battery, hog resources so the phone runs slow and the concept makes no sense considering you're only using one process anyway.

this motorola phone isnt supposed to have motoblur on it from my knowledge just the android 2.1 service. motoblur is pointless in my opinion

your right multi tasking can slow up a phone but its evident that the hardware is getting better and if android is the one to promote that I'm all for it. I'm sure the snapdragon can handle it and the way things are going with mobile processors phones will be as good in specs as some computers were 5 yrs ago.

Also battery life continues on getting better with time. I used to think iphones were cool but now I like the android way of doing things.

Also developers wont move to one platform they will release on whatever marketplace is available, be it app store, android's marketplace or webos. In my mind apple's app store and android's marketplace will be the main 2 developers will use. Apple is just way to deep in the game for them lose, that doesn't mean android wont be just as successful though.

i would prefer if they didnt speak a word about multi tasking on a phone, develop it until they get it RIGHT with the hardware needed, then reveal it.
not, attempt to put multi task in, and then it fails for the next 3-4 generations of phones.

idk it doesn't seem multitasking seems that hard to get right. I mean my iphone 3G is jailbroken so I use the backgrounding app all the time and it really doesn't drain that much battery or make the phone lag that much. In fact the only reason I think the phone lags at all is because the app wasn't developed by apple so there are some gliches in it still.

As for the reasons for wanting multitasking to begin with is simple, it is a pain to have to wait for the app to reboot everytime you exit out of it. For example during football season i used the Scoreboard a lot and instead of exiting out of it i would background it so that i could get back into it faster.
