Nike should combine their new technologies with some of the older shoe models and offer a premium performance oriented version for some of these retro releases. The performance version would be designated by a PL suffix which stands for Performance Line. The objective of the PLs would be to apply newer technologies and materials to update the older models by reducing weight and maximizing cushioning and stability of the shoe for in game performance. The PLs could apply to Jordan retros also. Here's a couple very rough examples - Penny IV PL and Pippen 1 PL, which would have full length visible Zoom Air like the Lebron Xs. I'm thinking the price difference would be $10-15 between a PL and regular version. Let me know what you think?

NO.
Only because it would alter the aesthetics too much.
I would just rather see true to OG colors, mold's and quality materials.

Understandable. I'd like to see updated versions of the OG colorways with OG molds and the newer tech. For instance, all of the early full length Air Max/Uptempos are so heavy that replacing it with the zoom air would save a few ounces.

^^ I can see where your coming from but some of the stuff they're doing, I hate like just slapping on a 360 air bubble and altering the shoe too much

I see what you mean OP, but it's better to leave well enough alone. Theoretically iy might work but ultimately I think it'll fall flat because they would have to alter the aesthetics too much for it to work.

Nahhh. Why change what doesn't need to be changed?

I can see what you mean, but these have no need to be altered in any way.

They kinda already do this

But I def would like to see the specific examples posted in OP produced for retail

I saw the Barkley CB 94 Hyperfuse at the mall this weekend and it's pretty much the concept I was describing in the OP. I didn't try them on but they felt lighter. I ball in the 04s which looked to be better quality though.
