I remember mentioning it in my mini reviews of many of these high rated IPAs. The likes of two hearted, PtE, a couple Maine BC beers, and HT all seem to ride on the smooth balanced IPA front, almost to the point of wanting them to be accessible to everyone. Some IPAs are truly bitter bombs and make it feel like you're sucking on a pine cone. That true lingering hop presence. Those can be a few of the higher rated beers. But for the most part, the balanced smooth nature of the highest IPAs seems to win out.
I see so many people locally trying elevated ipa or project dank, and then blast it online. It's an IPA folks. "Its too hoppy" some say. Dank won some awards so many people gravitated towards just wanting to try it, IPA fans or not. It isnt for everyone. But its review score has suffered.. I guess for the likes of HT, the more that people try, the more they like. WIth dank, some batches you get a sense of a nice tropical sweetness and really no crazy hop bitterness. So people jump to elevated and thats more of a hop bomb with upfront bitterness.
Someone correct me or verify my statements. I dont think they are too outlandish

Tenfidy is crack. I put it above Breakfast Stout. Enjoying a Sam Smith Organic Chocolate Stout right now. Gonna crack my Bell's Mars in a bit.

#9 was a good introduction to craft beer for me, but it's not something I'd go back and revisit. Sierra pale is a classic.yall drink magic hat #9 or is it low quality?
that & sierra nevada pale ale used to be my go to's
Just picked up a 4 pack tonight along with a six pack of Tröegs Blizzard of Hops
one of my favorite beers
Need that Christmas Bomb in my life ASAP.
Dope pickups.
Christmas came early today . Bombs were picked up from a local bottleshop and the rest were from a trade.

I'm still a fan of #9 but Magic Hat generally puts out junk
Yall remember their Summer beer made with beets from 09 and 10? I actually liked it but it got killed by beer drinkers
This year's Backwoods is insane. I'd buy a case if I had the space for it.
btw, neosole89, nice little pickup. That from BA? Do you guys do straight balanced amounts like we do? Or is there a rare factor that escalates the prices?
