A dog only acts like the way it's allowed to act around the house. If you train it and raise it where there is no beating and violent tendencies then the dog will act the same. It's just like a person. It's a combination of nature and nurture. My family has always had dogs and they never turned on anyone or anything unless we would specifically tell the dogs too.
