Offical Manny Pacquiao VS Oscar De La Hoya Thread. Dec 6th 6pm HBO PPV.

Although i think this fight has all the signs pointing to a De La Hoya win (Hes going to be at least 10lbs heavier, 5 inch reach advantage, 4 inch heightadvantage, boxer style) im hoping Manny pulls off a split decision. I mean lets face is Manny took this fight for the money, id rather see him fight Hatton.Anyway, Go Manny!

Good luck finding that. I've been to quite a few places looking for this promotion without any success. Also notice that in certain statesyou aren't even required to purchase a pack of Tecate. Instead there supposed to have cards at a point-of-purchase display that you can send in. FullThrottle and some tequila brand is also offering a rebate.

ya I've been to a lot of Filipinoparties/Manny Fight Nights...and it gets out of hand sometimes.....people get rowdy....that's expected after a win....but throughout the fight....they talkand yell tons of crap when watching....remarks that you would not want your kids to learn and be a hater.....and usually there are tons of kids at thoseparties. I'm not a boxing fan, but I'm still rooting for my countryman. If he wins this fight, he's gonna have the biggest Christmas/Victory paradein the history of the Philippines.

Don't let that pretty face fool you... dude's got an underrated chin.
Well put man!

But I think he the first half of the fight he has to control himself from those flurrys he has which leads to him being vulnerable at times. If he can do thatand last past the 8th round, Manny's endurance will give him the win by split decision.

and LOL @ all yall salty dudes saying yall gonna regret when Manny lose this saturday. Ain't that what ya'll said when he fought MAB, JMM, E Morales, and David Diaz?

on a sidenote, they got victor ortiz AND juanma lopez on the card. those guys are sick. wish they had better matchups up though, but i love watching these twoknock people the hell out.

lopez is the next puerto rican star, and like cotto and felix trinidad, the guy is a hook artist (except he's a south paw in this case).

ortiz is an oxnard kid (same hometown as fernando vargas) who is a devastating puncher. hopefully they bring him up the proper way and don't rush him intothings like they tend to do with other young, mex-american prospects...like francisco bojado and fernando vargas himself.

Manny's one of my favorite fighters, but it's obvious that he wins because of his physical abilities for his size...at 130 and under, nobody couldpunch or take a punch like him with that speed and relentlessness...he's not a guy who depends on technical/boxing skills, but speed and power...with thatin mind, the power has to be gone once ur fighting a guy who walks around more than 20 pounds heavier than u, and all he's left with is thatspeed/conditioning...Mayweather was able to beat him despite the size convincingly because he's a technician, but Manny's a brawler...

So realistically, only keys to the fight for Pacquiao is Speed and Endurance...if somehow Manny's punches can actually affect De La Hoya enough that hedoesn't just walk through them, and he can keep punching and move in and out for 12 rounds while De La Hoya tires himself out or is too slow to keep up, hemight have a chance at a decision....the other factor out there is that De La Hoya always chokes and loses in big fights (Trinidad, Mosley, Hopkins,Mayweather), we've all seen him get nervous and slow down while the fight slipped away from him, but this is such a mismatch it's hard to see himblowing this...Also, Manny is a southpaw and De La Hoya doesn't have a good straight right/right cross, so that could be a factor helping Manny to getinside...

But Manny has a very small chance...De La Hoya has the size/power/reach/boxing skills advantage, not to mention, Manny's chin hasen't even been testedat 135. He fought David Diaz at 135 one time and didn't even get touched...it remains to be seen if Manny can take a punch from a 135 lber, now he'sgoing to fight a 154 lber in De La Hoya

Oscar came in at 145

how they both look?
roll.gif
at Manny's shoes/Oscars socks height differential.

look at their torsom arms and build (nomo), it's identical. Delahoya got longer legs, but he fights flat foot so he'll be leveled. It's going to beall about quickness. Delahoya ain't as quick as he used to be.
Knockout round 7.
