Ima reserve judgement on Gerhart until the combine....we'll see. I doubt he runs a 4.43 though, he doesn't have the initial burst to make it happen. Dwyers 40 will be under a scope as well

Gerhart = Texans + Slaton

Please post the vid of when Rich Aizen runs the 40 this year. It's the highlight of the combine

what does that even mean?  Slaton lost his job at RB ...

Gerhart runs thru the biggest holes  in college and gets mistaken for being a really good RB
He is basically the white Ron Dayne.

This my first year of really paying attention to the combine, so I was going over how/when it got started and came across this:

Caleb from New Prague, MN

Why even bother with the combine? Scouting of players should be done by watching them play football, not how fast they are or how many bench-press reps they can do. I would rather have the football player than the workout freak.

Vic: I agree with you, but you’re probably not aware of the history of the combine. The whole intent of the combine was to bring prospects to a central location for the purpose of conducting physical exams. The teams wanted to make sure they weren’t drafting guys who were medical rejects. For example, I’ve told the story of interviewing a rookie upon his arrival at training camp in 1972. He was a fourth-round pick and I saw that he was missing a couple of fingers. When I asked the personnel director about the missing fingers, he said, “What missing fingers?â€

^ all tackles.
and Iupati had a 34.25 arm length. Now the talk of "can he be a LT" or is he a "future HOF at tackle" wont stop. Supposedly he had a good week at the senior bowl, but didn't stand out in that game at all. Will likely be overdrafted.

I really can't fathom how Rich Eisen can run that slowly

I mean even the fat O-lineman at my HS ran in the 5.5's.
Rolle’s commitment called into question
INDIANAPOLIS – Most NFL coaches and executives would be ecstatic if Myron Rolle was their son or their daughter’s date.

Drafting him is another matter.

Welcome to proof of the NFL adage: You want players to be smart, just not too smart. Rolle is an example of a gifted, driven, accomplished young man. He’s a guy who could survive and thrive withoutplaying mankind’s version of demolition derby.

More From Jason Cole

Rolle is a man with options and that makes NFL types, some of whomwould be teaching P.E. in high school if not for the pro game, veryuneasy.

“We’ll have to find out how committed he is,â€

“When coaches ask you what’s important in your life, usually you can get away with saying God, then family, then football. But a lot of coaches out there want to hear football, then God, then family.â€
