Duncan was taken for granted
Dirk was taken for granted
Hell even Shaq was taken for granted in some respects

Lebby gets more praise than any player ever outside of MJ, there's legions that argue he's the greatest of all time, yet he gets taken for granted. Y'all need to stop.

highly agree. I was watching some Tim Duncan highlights some days ago and man oh man, the guy was a monster yet no one hardly talks about him maybe because he's not a social media activist like Lebron. arguably the best power forward of all time but just couldn't since that is very disrespectful to the other greats that should also get mentioned. Karl Malone and Kevin McHale among others. on the otherhand, Lebron benefited alot in this generation of basketball popularity. if one might ask who started it all that made basketball it is today, I think the answer is pretty clear, it's Yao Ming (pun intended) .

It's not an argument. It really stopped in 2011. The propaganda since then has created this false dichotomy that doesn't exist, period. Bron should only be compared to Kareem in that Mt. Rushmore category for his longevity, his peak doesn't touch MJ's peak who was able to accomplish more than Bron has in a shorter period of time.

that my friend I have to agree. compare Lebron to Kareem for longevity.

okay yah but it is an argument.
as evidenced by the argument that we're having now.

MJ truthers only hurt themselves by trying live in a fantasy world that doesn't exist.

Lebron career totals will be insane once he's done and the more MJ truthers try to ignore it, the more LBJ is goat will take hold as the popular opinion.

C’mon man. You know that’s only half the story. For the legions that argue that he’s the GOAT, there has been an equally sized coalition that unjustifiably tear him down or discredit him. He’s not only better than those guys you listed too and has been playing at this level for 17 years. The fact you even compared him to them (in the context which this topic was brought up) shows how he is taken for granted

yup. Lebron should be compared to the great Brian Scalabrine.

if you are person who favors longevity over peak, then you would make the argument that Lebron or Kareem is the goat.

reasonable minds can differ.

so obviously LBJ v MJ is an arguemnt.

Not to informed basketball fans. It's an argument in the sense that they really want to make it one without anything to back it up. The only bullet point that's in his favor is career (longevity) stats. Offensively it's a wash at worst given Bron's playmaking ability (but Jordan is hands down the greatest scorer ever) and it's not close defensively. And the accolades are what they are. Sorry.

Bron's peak ain't near MJ's peak.

Like I said, compare him to Kareem.

isn't it the same with Lebron truthers like Undisputed's Shannon? on the otherhand, one has to ask why the opinion about Lebron is divided while MJ is unilateral.

Lol it's not close defensively okay man sure.

"No true Scotsman" fallacy is your entire argument. Not exactly convincing.

How about this then

MVPs: MJ-5, Bron-4
Finals MVPs: MJ-6, Bron-3
All NBA 1st team: MJ-10 1st team in 15 seasons (10/11 total selections) , Bron-13 in 17 seasons (13/16 total selections)
All NBA Def 1st team: MJ-9 1st team selections (including DPOTY), Bron- 5 1st team selections
Scoring titles: MJ- 10, Bron-1
Other league leading season stats: MJ- 3 steals titles, Bron- 1 assist title
MJ has the highest regular season scoring average
Bron has higher rebound and assist averages than MJ but not the highest ever

So unless the definition of 'peak': ie being at the summit or best has changed recently exactly what argument is there other than he's played longer and accumulated more stats (ie longevity).

Why is Lebron doing it for as long as he as, just longevity, yet you're ignoring the fact he is still doing it at a high/highest level?

highest level? Hell No ! Jordan doesn't slack on offense and defense that Lebron does. you will get an earful from Jordan if you do that.

He's played at a high level for sure but at the highest level on both ends of the floor? That really hasn't happened since he left Miami. For the regular season until this year in LA he coasted on offense (maybe 2018 not withstanding) and definitely hasn't put any effort/emphasis on defense until this year in LA since he left Miami. He's consistently turned it on in the playoffs but if we're talking about Bron at his zenith as a player that's not where he's at anymore.

“High Level” huh lol let’s not act like he hasn’t had any assistance to get to that high level
