Curious why does the Mitchell Ness blue Kobe show as 1996-1997, thought it was 2004 when these were worn.

The Lakers wore these in 1996-97 too as part of the 50th anniversary celebration that year. However, nobody has ever produced footage or a pic of Kobe playing in a game where they wore these, so it's still unclear if he actually wore this style that year.

^^^correct, I’ve looked for it myself. Never seen a single pic of him wearing it in any way shape or form

jersey is trash though, it’s cut differently from the yellow/purple jerseys which makes zero sense

I was looking at game logs he played in December but not in this actual game so he probably did wear it under his warmups and just never got a chance to play in game DNP coaches decision

Looks good to me. I don’t Think they could have placed the name any higher in that size. You can see the name is already at the border of the arm trims.
