OFFICIAL LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 2024-2025 SEASON THREAD

i love close and great games but tonight is the night the clips need to show they are the better team, the best team and crush their soul by winning big

and really hate to compare them to the lakers again but they need to do what they did to the blazers last night and just destroy the confidence they built two days ago
Rfx- stradamus?

Reactions: HIM
I was skeptical about of changes would actually be made, or if we were just gonna "love harder"...but...

Physicality with luka was great. Trapping and hard hedging was fantastic.

PG shot selection and aggressiveness was on point.

Funny how Luka goes bananas and PG and kawhi are afraid of him...then he shoots 6-17 and it's "because he's hurt" couldn't be because the Clippers played great defense against him. Nah.

By the way, how good has JJ Headick been? My goodness...this is the best he’s played all season

Reggie knocking down every open shot has been huge too

Zu making P C H P C H proud

They laughing in the main thread but watch the games, Zu is a Dpoy contender waiting to happen.

Best value deal in the league when you factor his age, years on the deal, how much he makes, and how he's already one of the best defenders in the league and a top rim protector.

Luka is a top 5, 6 player in the league right now and Zu is holding his own against him in multiple situations.

It's funny, but I'm so serious dude is one of the main reasons the Clips will win a chip as long as Doc doesn't screw his minutes up. Catches and finishes everything, quick feet, huge, elite rim deterrent, love him.

The Clippers are so clearly the most championship ready team in the league.

No other team can say they're elite in the half court AND transition as well as elite defensively. They have the best playoff performer in the half court, right in the middle of his prime. He's so good that they've gotten nothing from PG in over half the games this series and nothing from Pat Bev and the series still should be over because he's that good.

The only question is, can they reach or come close enough to that ceiling 13 more times.

And the tech last night after his bucket. That **** had me hype :lol

But to your point:

Reggie looks like he has a brain when he's coming off the bench. It's like he's tasked with more responsibility as a starter and loses his mind lol

And shot the hell out of the ball year with us and has been a legit great CAS guy for like a long time.

It's one of main reasons why despite a lot of people calling for him to be out of the rotation, I vehemently disagreed.

Also, I'm not a psychiatrist and I don't know anything about Mental or what PG may be going through in that bubble, but It makes sense that for some it's a lonely experience and when you're playing badly, the combination of the bubble + Millions of people on social media + your own innate frustrations of how you're playing, I can see HOW that would impact someone

It also makes me realize just how different Kawhi Leonard is. There's never getting to high or too low and staying even keel...then there's him lol he's insane.

Looking fwd to seeing the carry over into game 6

To docs credit...I would've never thought that headick and Jackson swapping roles would activate them both the way it did.

Good point about zu. If you're laughing in the NBA thread, you're not watching the games...Just rolling with the narrative mlga put out post trade.

zu gets no respect, dude is very good on def and has improved on switches and has better hands that tre

i was listening to bill simmons pod and they were talking about okc v hou and they said okc figured them out by being fatser because if you get pass your defender theres no one else there and proceeded to say the clips has the same problem completely ignoring zu's existence :smh:

It's worse because with Zu people engage in blind faith and cognitive dissonance.

He's literally one of the best rim protectors in the league and anchored an elite defense this year. Look at Luka's numbers against Zu.

If you don't think he'll be able to play in the playoffs then that's one thing (I'd disagree big time) but if you don't cite the year he had defensively then I know you're not critiquing in good faith. The eye test and the numbers don't lie.

Look at how the Clips perform when he's on the floor.

I think next year's chances of LAC winning a chip are a bit slimmer. Important to win this year. Their roster probably won't be nearly as versatile.

Same with Pat Bev, TBH. People like to act like he’s just a scrub who fouls a lot, but the Clippers are appreciably better when he plays.

Yeah but it's probably even worse with Pat because he starts and closes for LAC. You have to REALLY REALLY ignore what he brings on both ends if you believe he isn't good or important.

Playmaker, historic rebounder for his size, elite 3&D guy, doesn't turn the ball over, all things that are backed up by the eye test and the numbers.

The streets will tell you he's this guy who only plays defense and is fake tough or w/e, but he's legit a reallyyyy good basketball player and the Clippers suck w/o him because, well...it's hard to replace that level of talent. It's just people have this idea or aesthetic of Pat Bev, which is partly true, but does a HUGE HUGE disservice to his actual ball skills, which are very good.

This dude Pat Bev had 17 / 14 (!) / 4 in an elimination game on the road against THOSE warriors. He's as legit as they come.

(I'm just hyped for this weekend lol)

Should shamet start game 6 even if Beverly is ready to go?

I say no, but Shamet does play well w/the starters and Pat Bev would help the 2nd unit tremendously with his defense. (Lou Reggie and Trez together are a train wreck)

I could see the logic though. I'd refrain just because of how good Pat makes the starters.

With KP done, I’m in favor of not playing Pat until we absolutely need him in this series, if it comes to that.

Just need to come out and match the Mavs’ energy and effort on Sunday and we should be good even with out PatBev.

people just mad that they don't have him on their team. didn't pay attention much to pat bev till he joined the clips and realized how much of an impact he makes on the team. that energy he brings elevates the team to a whole different level

honestly would prefer for him to just sit out game 6 since our guys have been able to to do well with out him so far and if everyone's playing the same way they were the last game, should be zero problem closing out the series

btw didnt even know this thread existed here on NT but glad to see some discussion on the clips!
