***Official Los Angeles Dodgers 2024 Thread*** Please talk to us Nice....no more covid season nonsense. 2024 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!!!

Crazy playing 2 regular season games....then coming back and playing spring training games..

MLB should really stop these overseas series.
Or just give teams breaks in between game. It’s beginning of the season so it’s not like it’ll impact the fellas outside of maybe pitchers (who can throw sim games in between).

Hypothetically,

If we brought Trevor back would anyone here be opposed to it?

I wouldn't...especially after what I saw with Yamamoto...

^^^ I think Bauer’s a ****, but if he’s done all the penalties and punishments that have been handed to him and is eligible to sign, wouldn’t bother me if the team brought him back.

I’d still rather not have him on the team, but wouldn’t go as far as to protest games if they signed him. End of the day, guys in the clubhouse don’t fw him so why mess with the chemistry?

I believe Mookie has said teams should sign him. Really haven't heard anything else.

Still early in the season but if Yamamoto doesn't start to improve, might not be bad to take Trevor at minimum money.

Ippei, although without much legal advice, has said he lied about the whole thing after the first interview. Unless he states otherwise when he goes to court, then I'm not sure where else folks can go with this unless it's conspiracy theories about him paying Ippei and his wife off.

My guess is this... either:

A) Ippei somehow gained access to, and stole, $4.5m from Shohei without anyone realizing it

- or -

B) Ippei's first story about Shohei willingly paying off the debts was true, and then Shohei's lawyers told everyone "Yo, if you did wire money to pay his debts that's a federal crime, so Ippei you're gonna recant, take the fall, and y'all can deal with all of this amongst yourselves after we plead ignorance and sweet-talk the feds not to press any charges."

B seems much more plausible to me. How many people would know that wiring money to pay a gambling debt is a crime??? I sure as hell didn't til the NT homeys DonCigaro DonCigaro and DsLee DsLee schooled me last week. I'm sure they had no idea either til the lawyers heard about it from the initial ESPN inquiries.

I love that I'm flipping back around the channels to watch this and PTI and what do I see, but an ad for "ESPN Bet: The official sportsbook of ESPN."

Just make this **** legal everywhere and let degenerates bankrupt themselves and their families in the light of day like they can everywhere else in the world :smh:

Nez joked about how Shohei signed with New Balance without even knowing details of the money/contract. I doubt he’s auditing his account constantly if he’s been raking in $60M+ annually for the past couple of years.
Right, but I don’t think/believe Ippei can just wire that kind of money without Ohtani knowing/finding out/alerted in some type of form/fashion. Wouldn’t Ohtani have to sign off on that too? A bank wouldn’t just let someone walk in and transfer money from someone else’s account, especially that kind of money.

The person would have to have been given some official power of attorney or actually added as one of the account holders.

Seems unlikely that kind of access was given to an interpreter, but not completely inconceivable either, IMO.

Full press conference. I missed it earlier still need to watch when I get home.

by all accounts they became close friends, Shohei seems like the kind of guy to let his circle eat
